Rob Manfred says the 2023 schedule will be more balanced. Teams will play at least one series against every opponent in both leagues.

So, what does this mean for Spring Training?
Will be in Ft. Lauderdale next week and was hoping they would get their **** sorted out so ST could start on time so we could catch a game.
Any chance there will be any activities going on next week?
Players can report tomorrow. Required report date is the 13th unless you're a player with visa issues. Games start the 17th or 18th.Ag_07 said:Aggie Pharmer said:

Pretty sure they'll be up and running by this weekend.
Those tiebreaker games have to bite the dust to make sure the Wild Card Series can start two days after the end of the regular season.

That's especially true in this postseason, which has to fit into a tighter window so World Series dates don't have to be moved.
Also in CBA: Amateur draft will be 20 rounds. Players can be optioned no more than five times in a season.

This year, we're aiming for the pinnacle.

One interesting nugget in the new agreement: Starting in 2023, the schedule will feature fewer divisional games, and every team will play at least one series against every other opponent, including in the other league. The exact format is still being determined.

It's official on MLB's website: Astros open their season on April 7 in Anaheim against the Angels.

Astros owner Jim Crane on what’s next for his club: “We're gonna be working on it tonight. We got a few things to do. We got a good ballclub. Our pitching is gonna be a little deeper with Verlander and McCullers back. We think we got a good chance to win the division, get in…” pic.twitter.com/fsVmW0Olyw

Jim Crane on the Astros priorities heading into spring training: “Depends on what happens with Carlos (Correa). Our center fielder has been injured. Shortstop is an issue and the center fielder. Those are some of our objectives. Maybe add an arm or two to the bullpen.” pic.twitter.com/sNjCEWADdP

16 teams will have Opening Day on Thursday, April 7.
— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) March 11, 2022
The remainder will have Opening Day on Friday, April 8.
The first game on the schedule:
The Boston #RedSox against the New York #Yankees in the Bronx.
Perfect.
But...

A player can only receive one bonus.
So a Rookie of the Year who also finished top 5 in MVP voting would get just the larger (MVP) amount.
15 3-game series would be 45 games of interleague playtjack16 said:One interesting nugget in the new agreement: Starting in 2023, the schedule will feature fewer divisional games, and every team will play at least one series against every other opponent, including in the other league. So there's no way to tell what your payroll will be until well after the season after awards are announced
