Here's my shot at it - With the run we've seen from this team in recent years it's hard to not include mostly guys from this era. They've been a historically good team as of late.

C- Biggio
2B - Altuve
1B - Bagwell
DH - Yordan
LF - Beltran (Carlos had 17 appearances in LF in 2017 so he qualifies here)
3B - Bregman
RF - Berkman
SS - Correa
CF - Springer

Bench
Marwin
Bill Spiers
Blummer (That's right...His ability to play multiple positions and his current awesomeness gets him in)
Yuli
Brian McCann (sorry Fat Tony)

Rotation
Nolan
JV
Roy O
Gerrit Cole (Scott was a great Astro but that run Cole had as an Astro was all time epic)
Roger Clemens

Bullpen (gets a little murky)
Wags (CP)
Lidge (pre Pujols) (Setup)
Pressley
Valverde
Dotel
Qualls (I guess? IIRC his first stint with us was awesome but blew his 2nd time around)

No where on this post does it say this is based solely off their time period on the team...

What if you did this list with only guys that would choose an Astros hat if they were able to get to the HOF? Not only guys we see as Astros, but the guys that would call themselves Astros too.

C - Craig Biggio
1B - Jeff Bagwell
2B - Jose Altuve
SS - Carlos Correa
3B - Alex Bergman/ Ken Caminiti (one would be bench)
LF - Jose Cruz
CF - Caesar Cedeno
RF - Jimmy Wynn
DH - Lance Berkman

Bench
Bregman/Caminiti
Bob Aspromonte
George Springer
Brad Ausmus or Tony Eusebio
Terry Puhl

Starting rotation
Nolan Ryan (I know he has a Rangers hat out of spite, but he would call himself an Astro)
JR Richard
Roy Oswalt
Larry Dierker
Mike Scott

Relief
Billy Wagner CL
Lance McCullers - would be awesome in a 2 inning bridge
Brad Lidge
Dave Smith
Colin McHugh

Here is my shot at the lineup (more a ranking than lineup). I took the top 50 Astros by WAR.

The player's score is 50% wRC+, 50% WAR; both as an Astro only.

wRC+ captures your offense vs your peers of the time
WAR captures longevity, level of play, & defense

A Team
1st Base: Jeff Bagwell - .997 (perfect score is 1.000)
2nd Base: Craig Biggio - .794
3rd Base: Alex Bregman - .613
Shortstop: Carlos Correa - ..583
Left Field: Lance Berkman - .807 (he played OF more than 1st and LF more than CF or RF, but 1st more than any single OF position.)
Center Field: Cesar Cedeno - .717
Right Field: Jimmy Wynn - .678
Catcher: Cliff Johnson - .514 (more of a DH/1B, but have you seen our catchers all time? Woof!)

B Team
1st Base: Bob Watson - .588
2nd Base: Jose Altuve - .668
3rd Base: Morgan Ensberg - .486
Shortstop: Dickie Thon - .444
Left Field: Jose Cruz - .711
Center Field: George Springer - .612 (cheated a little - he's played way more RF)
Right Field: Terry Puhl - .547
Catcher: Jason Castro - .394

Honorable Mention
Second Base: Joe Morgan - .589
Left Field: Moises Alou - .584 (the guy keeping Baggy from a perfect score)
Second Base: Bill Doran - .541
1st Base: Glenn Davis - .536
Right Field: Richard Hildalgo - .518

1998 was a good year. I still remember going to the dome watchin The Big Unit pitch, as well as seeing both the Big Mac and Slamming Sammy hit as well.

On Sunday of Labor Day Weekend in 1998 the Astros played a day game in the dome against the Reds and we were there as Randy Johnson pitched a 1-0 complete game shutout in a packed, crazy dome. After the game we were eating dinner somewhere in the Westheimer area and Johnson and his wife walked in. Everyone in the restaurant stood up and gave him a standing ovation as he was being seated. Was pretty cool and one of those things you hope gives your team an edge in resigning a superstar. This city was dying for the Astros to make the World Series.

You youngsters can google what a "complete game" is.

Put Biggio first team catcher and bring Altuve up to second base. Especially for playoffs

I'd take the 2019 Astros against a remaining all-franchise team.
I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.

If you add Cole, you have to at least consider the Big Unit... that guy was insanely good for that 1/2 season. If #5 and #7 had hit just a tiny bit vs. the Padres in the NLCS that year, we could have been in the WS.

Bregman sounds like the average Lsu fan when talking **** and making **** up about A&M.

This may be controversial, but I do not like his swing.

I'm no swing coach but it looks like he's still afraid to use his legs.

Looks like very little load and all arms.

Yup. Where is the power?

Compare his swing to Yordan or even Tuve.

At 8:25 he literally said that he was working on his hands and swinging with no body or legs.
But its looked like that in every video he's posted.

I know that. I guarantee you he does more than just broadcast. He worked for them in 2019 too.
