Well Correa signing with Boras only means one thing. He wasn't getting the massive offers he wanted. And it's Boras' job to land that whale.

The other thing is that it cements he's not coming back to Houston. It was doubtful that we were going to meet what he was looking for before, it's a guarantee now.

He wasn't coming back to the Astros anyway. Kinda sucks for the agency he was with. Represent him for years, about to get a cut of a big deal, and then you get dumped mid-offseason.

sucks, but, they had their chance to land the megadeal,, lots of big deals right before the lockout, and correa didn't get one. had their chance and couldn't bring it home. so i get it from correa's perspective of, this is my one big chance to land a mega deal, i gave them a chance, but need to hire the guy that's best about landing megadeals

I don't think it changes the odds much at all.

It was always a very slim chance and it remains a very slim chance. It was always gonna be who paid the most and that continues to hold true. Boras doesn't change that.

In the case of Altuve and LMJ, those deals were likely negotiated by Crane himself, and in all cases, those were extensions prior to the current contracts expiring. Also, both players were adamant about wanting to stay. Maldanaldo had Boras and he fired him because he didn't present the Astros real offer to him, which was more than what he ended up signing with kansas city for. Boras will actively steer his free agent clients away from the Astros and towards the highest bidder. Always has, always will.

Sugar Land name change sucks. Cowboys are a Dallas sports brand. No sporting organization associated with Houston sports should be Cowboys anything in any way, shape or form. Just a giant swing and miss in my opinion.
