Okay…..how about 1 hit? Can we do that?

5 league championship series , 3 World Series appearances, and at least one World Championship over 5 yrs is quite a run in any universe. I say at least because this isn't over until it is.
Oh it's been a hell of a run and it's going to continue for the next couple/several years.
But it hurts to only have one title. We're pacing to be the 90s Braves.
I'd rather be the 90s Braves than the Rangers

Yep, and we didn't need a Cy Young winner to win the series, all we needed was for one of our top hitters to get hot and create some momentum… or for our whole lineup to just have average performances.redline248 said:
Pining for what could have been with Verlander is a waste of time. We had all year to get here without him. Losing Lance is a lot different, but we made it through Boston without him. Bottom line is both pitching and offense have been bad.
Now they are running out of time to correct it

Well, yeah. But I want a dynasty. I'm greedy AF.

But they got hot and we got cold at the wrong time. It happens.
Not even close to the dominance of the Braves pitching back then. Our hitters aren't doing what needs to be done with the plenty of hittable pitches they have seen all series.Marvin said:
Well, I guess Atlanta pitching is just that much better than Astros hitting. We have been absolutely awful at the plate this series and don't seem capable of doing anything about it.
Welcome to 1990's Braves-Astros.

At the end of the day, these guys don't care. They get paid their $500K league minimum and most much more than that.
The fans are who lose at the end of the day. Why we get emotionally invested is beyond me. It's too painful to experience this year after year
Bingo. Some clubhouses just have leaders that are extremely competitive and some don't.
Are you telling me that you would do more at your job or try harder when your pay is already at a guaranteed price? Yeah right, you guys are still pretending it's the old days and some guys just compete as some immortality. They don't give a rats ass but will tell you different as no one wants to sign someone to their company if they can't bring in more revenue which means wins. They do just enough as you do at your job and nothing more.
Yep, and the window is not closed yet. I have been impressed with Click and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does over the offseasontjack16 said:Farmer1906 said:halfastros81 said:

What's amazing, regardless of what you are saying, a team who lost Cole to free agency, JV to injury, ZG kind of falling off in the second half made it to the World Series. Throw in losing your clear #1 for the year in the ALDS.
Throw in being getting blasted in games 2 and 3 in the ALDS and then winning 3 in a row without Lance throwing a pitch.
How does this team do this if they aren't competitors, fighters, and have leaders?

This team showed you exactly who they were losing so many games to average teams down the stretch.
The Braves showed you you they were during the final stretch. They have been fighting and scraping for survival for 3 months.
They actually remind me of us prior to Springer leaving and the Correa contract fiasco. They don't have anything left to fight for while Braves would play for free tomorrow.
