Dagger

Love this in the first ****ing inning. Pathetic

I never claimed they were dead or that I was giving up hope. Getting a grandslam in the 1st is an absolute dagger.

What's pathetic is digging up older posts to try and misconstrue what people were saying

But if you want actual quitters on the season, there are plenty of real posts to choose from.

I had a real sense of deja vu watching that first inning grand slam, but it wasn't a Red Sox flashback. I took to YouTube to figure out where I had seen it before.

After some searching I realized where I recognized it from. The fight between Chong Li and Ray Jackson from the Academy-Award qualifying Jean Claude van Damme tour de force "Bloodsport".

If you recall, in the opening scenes of Bloodsport, Chong Li is the champion everyone loves to hate. He's ruthless, he's brutal, he doesn't care what you think about him. That's the Astros.

Ray Jackson, played by Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds, is a hillbilly and a fellow who loves pumping himself up to the crowd and acting like he's the greatest thing ever. That's the Braves.

In the opening of the fight, Jackson (the Braves) lights Chong Li (the Astros) up with a few wild hammer punches and knocks him down, sort of like hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the first. He then struts around the arena yelling his own name like the match is over.

Chong Li gets up, licks his own blood, and proceeds to beat Jackson to death, despite the desperate screams of Frank Dux (Joe Buck) to stop the fight - Dux is restrained by Asian guy in glasses (John Smoltz).

A friend mentioned Greinke potentially having the last base hit by a pitcher tonight. Pretty cool and fitting if so.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but the Astros have won 3+ straight playoff games 7 different times since 2017.

We ain't done yet.

Interesting- Correa says he keeps the first base running times of the opposing players on the inside bill of his cap. Checks it before every at bay so he knows how fast he has to get the ball to first base

Yordan needs to crush a 500+ foot HR off one of Atlanta's lefty relievers in game 6.

I wanted an interview for the Braves' fan down the third base line wearing the Calvin Ridley jersey. Not a great day for that guy.

Huge momentum swing, not just winning game 5 down 1-3 in the series but also after being down 4 runs to win by 4. That's one hell of a mindfvkk for an opponent.

The last 2 games have proven the Braves are either homeruns or nothing.
If we keep them in the ballpark we win. We scored 9 runs today without a HR and they scored all 5 of their runs off of homeruns. Last night 2/3 of their runs were solo HR

To me that's the key to winning the next 2. Keep the ball in the yard when the Braves are at the plate

After that grand slam, definitely. They had to feel like the series was theirs at that point and they lost focus. Will be hard to regain it with the Houston roaring crowd. (And I felt like that Atlanta crowd was weak compared to our Minute Maid ones).
