Order does indeed matter. And to think otherwise is just stupid and unintelligent.

Yuli got nothing to hit due to who was hitting behind him. That position should obviously be Bergman's position in the order since he can't hit for **** right now anyways.

Tucker needs to be protected in the lineup. And maybe Bergman gets some confidence back just by getting on base being pitched around in front of Maldy.

And he will be stellar against us. An effectively wild pitcher neutralizes this team. They have done it multiple times this year. Combine that with a strike zone that you got with Hallion and you damn near got a no hitter.

So basically this is a gimme game from the Braves' perspective.

Not at all

It's a BP game for them. Their BP is very good.

well, but they aren't going for the kill shot with their game 1 starter. So they do view it as house money, imo.

We just need to make him go deep into counts. Put some pressure on him every AB to make big pitches in the zone. He might find lightning in a bottle but I can also see us roughing him up a little.

They have been let off the hook for poor starting pitching for all 4 games. One more is just that. One more.

If there was ever a night we get some good calls from the umpiring crew, it's tonight. MLB does not want this to end in 5.

One factor in the batting order is that all Atlanta's beat relievers are lefties anyway.

Keeping the LR broken up does really only helps with when Atlanta brings in a righty. High leverage late it's minter, matzek, Wilson and it doesn't matter who's up for Houston.

It's the same reason atl went Rosario, freeman, albies because they know we don't have a L specialist capable of stopping them anyways.

They're not going with their GM 1 starter because he broke his leg and is out.

Have you even watched any of this series?

Maybe it's the optimist in me….. but here's how I see it.

Game 5 - we have the advantage. Our #1 vs their Johnny Fullstaff (again)

Game 6 - back home, 55/45 tossup

Game 7 - if we get there, we have all the momentum, pressure on the Braves to not choke, and we're at home.

I'm not saying we're in a good spot… but we're still in this.

I'm still here. We're not where we want to be… but this is far from over. We win tonight and the Braves pucker up big time.

If you told me, after McCullers went down and especially after game 2 and 3 of boston series that we would be in the WS but down 3-1, i would still happily taken it.

lol I'm dumb. I've been sitting here all day trying to remember who was game 1 starter. Guess I've been trying to block out things that suck about this series.

Strangely calm for tonight. Pretty confident we'll get back to Houston. Ready to get some trick or treating started. First year my youngest is starting to get it

I think lack of familiarity with Truist Park is really understated. They haven't had batting practice to learn the hitter's eye. They've had to do it in live games. Also, they've had limited practice in the outfield. Look at how Brantley crashed into the wall in Game 3 and Yordan last night.

I just think it is ****ty for games that mean so much for one team to have such a home field advantage.

Is this true? I knew they missed BP on Friday, but they really have had no BO on the field?

They've had nothing. Not even fielding practice. They got to go look at the walls, but that's it.

I agree. That said, how much familiarity would anyone get in most years where the team hasn't played in that park?

I truly think Manfred is pulling strings to put the astros at a disadvantage though. It will almost assuredly never come to light, but I believe it to be true.

I bet it would be very hard to find a journalist sympathetic to the astros. They have got to be the most hated team in all of pro sports right now.

All of the thread regulars are tuned in to the national baseball coverage world so I imagine if it pops up anywhere, they will post it.
