Really wanted to see a win tonight in person since this will be our only game, but I'm on a 4-game WS losing streak so just as well that we're not going back.

I used to be the same way with the Ags in bowl games. Rode a remarkable 0-5 streak that started in 1977 and was still going strong when I flew to San Diego in 2005 to watch Cal annihilate us 45-10 on a game that proved to me that college football is fixed. Never been back to a bowl since.

I am 15-0 in Astros playoff games in person

I have tickets to Game 6 and Game 7

We just need to win 2 of next 4 and I'll do the rest

I watched the first 6 innings and it was obvious our guys weren't locked in, and the Braves were. They got to Framber early and he never recovered. I was very happy with the way Odo pitched though and the rest of the bullpen.

It's a long series, and the Astros have never won a game 1 in the World Series, so I am not too worried about last night. Now if we lose tonight, I will be worried because 2019 hangs over our heads still. The boys, especially the top of the order, need to lock it in tonight.

Last postseason game I went to was G4 in the 17 World Series. Only home game the Astros lost that postseason. I'm doing my part by staying away

Tonight's game is important because we've got Luis in GM 3 and for me that's a big question mark on the road.

Win tonight to get back to even and let the chips fall where they may with Luis.

Lose tonight and you're down 2-0 with ATL going for a kill shot in GM 3 in a crazy environment with Luis Garcia on the bump.

good thing we can all rely on Jose Urquidy not to piss down his leg

You have more confidence than I do. Normally yes, but he has not pitched a lot recently and he may still be knocking off some of the rust. Not ideal in a WS game.

Buddy telling me that Manfred said in a pregame interview the roof will be open tonight? How did I miss this? Anybody got a link to the interview?

Thought this was supposed to blow through around lunch time? Already hitting the west side

I almost have more confidence in Javier than any of our starters. He seems to have been pretty solid in several recent outings, but I know he's technically not a starter.

Raining sideways in Pinehurst.

Maybe this storm will blow away all the bad luck from last night!

Space City Weather has it off the coast by noon. Heavy rain hit College Station at 7 and still raining at 840. Should be dry, but it's gonna be windy and cool.

That's what is great about this lineup, there are so many great hits that we can win games (or series against Boston) even when some of them are cold or slumping.

When they get hot together they are the best offense of the last 20 years. Unfortunately that hasn't happened this year (maybe a short stretch around the all start break when we reeled off 12 wins or so).

Our problem right now is Tucker has cooled off quite a bit, while Tuve /Breg /Correa haven't heated back up.

Our best bats right now are Yordon and Brantly, but two isn't enough.

Edited: meant to say Breg hasn't heated up, not Brantly

"Based on the weather forecast it'll be open tomorrow."

That does not sound like he might open it depending on the weather. That sounds like he looked at the forecast and decided that game 2 would have to be open.

Brantley and Tucker had multi hit games last night. But who is counting?

Yea. I wouldn't necessarily call tonight a must win but it's pretty close to it.

The bad news is that the Braves are hot and playing super confident baseball, but so were the Red Sox after g3. One thing I have alot of trust in is our coaching staff/baseball ops ability to make adjustments mid-series. We'll figure out how to attack their hitters.

Winning tonight would put some doubt in their minds and reset the momentum in our favor. I do think we need to be cautious with Urquidy though. If he's got it, great. Ride him. But if he's struggling with command early or the Braves are on him, gotta use the quick hook.

We can't let them jump out to a big early lead again. A multi-run run deficit against their pitching staff is tough. Just need to keep it close and put some pressure on them. They've never been here before. We have.

And he had a 3 run bomb the last game of the ALCS... not sure where that post came from.

Our biggest problem is that Yordan has too many ABs with no one on. We have to get guys on base in our 1-2-3

Sorry, meant Breg not Brantly. Edited it.

When Tucker got to the plate with 3 on base in the first, were you confident like you would have been with Yordon or Brantly?

What about against the Sox when he left 2 on or when he hit into they key double play? And I didn't say he's ice cold - but he is NOT as hot as he was during the last 20 games of the regular season when he was hitting everything they could throw. He has cooled off some.

I think we see Siri in centerfield tonight with a lefty starting today.

Agreed. Chas is 1/13 since going 3/4 in g1 of the ALCS. He needs to sit and give Siri a shot.

You mean players can't keep hitting at a .450 pace over an extended period of time?

And yes, I was extremely confident with Tucker up with the bases loaded because he's batting like .480 with the bases juiced this season.

He's hitting .295 in the postseason and hit .294 in the regular season. He hasn't cooled off at all. Don't be an idiot.

Jokes aside, you're right, I saw a graphic in NLCS g3 that 70-something out of 80-something teams that had started off 2-0 won the series.

So apparently Eduardo Gomez implied that Framber could have been tipping his pitches again last night. Maybe when he gets caught up in the moment he defaults to his old habits. If that is the case then hopefully Strom can fix him and get ahead of it with Urquidy and Garcia the next couple of games.
