Runs and the team would be on way to winning.

Yep. Tuck hit the ball hard and Albies made a play.

I was not impressed with the Braves defense tonight.

I said it before the series started...The braves don't do anything really impressive but they do everything pretty good.

They hit they run they play defense and they pitch pretty good.

It was never gonna be easy.

This is the Astros' 5th consecutive loss in World Series home games. If the Astros want to win the World Series, they must win Game 2 tomorrow before playing 3 consecutive road games in Atlanta.

The good news is that we know our team is fully capable of so much more. We have seen it. This night was a down night and uncharacteristic of them. Lot of strike outs, bad at bats. Unlucky fielding. That can all change. As others are pointing out, this is not the first time and this team can turn it around. Experience counts….

I believe the Springer gif cussing about the ump works here.

1, 3, and 5 holes can't **** the bed like that.

Framber's showing was very disappointing, but this I think is the biggest story of game 1. It can also change real quickly. The bullpen was outstanding once again this postseason. Brantley, Tucker, Yuli, Yordan had good at bats. 8 hits isn't terrible.

Atlanta found some holes and then took advantage early. Astros got some runners but the right handed hitters have to turn it around for anything to change. 8 and 9 you can work around but no lineup can handle what we are getting from the 1, 3, and 5 spots in the lineup.

Least scary lineup we've seen this post season - ChiSox and Boston were better than Atl. Get the bats going tomorrow and we'll be fine.

I've been following Astros baseball since the late 90s and have only been contributing on this thread since 19 (I had no idea it existed before then). That being said, something needs to be done about Bregman and his spot in the lineup. I expect ups and owns from Altuve but Bregman has shown zero life… his bat needs to be replaced by Yuli or Tucker

Is Scherzer or Strasbourg on their roster? Still take Astro offense over Atlanta's and pitching at this point is even.

My God some of you are pathetic. Put yer big boy pants on and nut up. We ran into a ton of bad luck, Framber not locating, and the Braves having a ton of great luck and lost 6-2. There should be no sense that the guys can't turn around tomorrow and stomp Atlanta's dicks in the dirt. Stop being ******* or just stop watching. ****ing miserable roosterlollipops.

This. Bunch of handles on here bleeding that I don't even recognize.

Dusty just **** slapped Chandler in the presser.

When asked if he thought about PHing for Maldy in the 4th with 2 on and 1 out Dusty responded with

No that was way too early. Way early. Especially when they got a whole BP of lefties. That's what you do when you're panicking. I don't know how to panic.

Then walked off.

ALCS was much more maddening and seemingly hopeless early. This feels like one of those series where the underdog eventual loser takes game 1 and everyone thinks it's gonna be a good series before the favorite ends it in short order.

Also Fenway a little bit more intimidating than whatever Atlanta's stadium is named this season

Our RHed bats need to get thier ish together.

Out lefties can hit lefties but our righties need to step up.

That was one of the most frustrating games I've watched. From the first pitch just one kick in the junk after another.

Morton going down could be big but we have to win tomorrow.

Just a meh game. Odorizzi working that lineup is a takeaway from this game. Bad Framber can lose you a game against anybody.

No. No it doesn't at all. That team, despite the aging HOFers in the lineup, had significantly less quality than this one... especially in the form of playoff hardened quality with pedigree.

This team is more way likely to average 7 or 8 runs per game for the rest of the series than it is to get swept.

Posted up waiting for traffic to die down sipping on an old fashion and not going to read the past 40 pages. Was the zone tight on us or was I seeing things from a bad angle all night?

Either way, do not fret my brothers. We got this.

Zone was fairly tight but not against us. We had several favorable calls but not enough to sway thing one way or another. I'd say pretty good job by home plate Umpire

Zone was really good.

I'd say a bit tight but accurate. Balls were called balls and strikes were called strikes.

Tomorrow could be a different story.

It was a fairly tight zone, but blue was consistent.
