The word you're looking for here is "metaphor."
Metaphor is a description which is not literally applicable while an adjective names an attribute and the Astros were scapegoated in the whole thing which is both a noun and a verb. I decided that the word described what happened, literally, to them so I went with it.

I do not expect him to get a start at all. I expect them to continue prioritizing Maldy's defense and bring Castro the Astro in during important spots.

Something odd I noticed with Garcia is that his cutter and slider are his best pitch. His 4seamer is probably his worst when it comes to getting hard contact. As the season went along, Garcia threw more cutters and fewer 4 seamers yet the results were still declining. Then he tried to go back to a similar pitch mix in Sept as he was earlier in the season and the results got even worse.
Nothing else I see stands out. Velo has been consistent. Spin actually improved after the sticky stuff ban. Similar splits for balls in the zone, on the edge, and out of the zone. He's just not missing bats like before.
I wonder if the book is out on him or maybe he's tipping pitches too.

This is the 40th time I've been on this thread today since telling myself at 7 a.m. that i wouldn't come on here until the game started so I could finish my work and not have to say up all night like after Game 5.

I think it's mostly that he had pitched way too many innings. He's so far beyond his career IP numbers it's unreal. He needed a 3 week break for some made up illness but with Greinke and Odo breaking down they couldn't give him one.

I'm listening to the latest Section 10 podcast (Red Sox Barstool podcast). It is very complimentary to the Astros and surprisingly pretty good commentary on the last 2 games.
