Where does the performance by Framber rank in terms of most important Astros playoff pitching performances?

A few people have tried to rank them over the past several pages, and the only thing you can really take from the lists is that a number of fans are obviously fairly young.

Uncanny. Looks like Astros figured out what the Sox were doing and now the offense that was borderline historic scored 3 runs over the last 2 games in their own park.

Yep. I think you are exactly correct. Astros figured out what they were doing to tip their pitches and boom…. Back to being the Astros.!

Im old enough to remember most of the Mets series in 86. In terms of importance, due to the taxed bullpen, chance to go down 3-2 this is probably a top 3-4.

Obviously Game 7 WS trumps everything.

Verlander vs the Yankees was spectacular.

Roy O silencing the Cards after the Lidge debacle.

Brandon Backe had a couple of monsters.

Mike Scott carving up the Mets.

Clemens out of the pen in the 18 inning win vs the Braves.

I liked Big Hurts comment "Houston just showed you what they do if you poke the bear"

Keep it up!

I said a couple of hundred pages back I was at game 1 of the NLDS against LAD. Ryan went 9 against Fernando who went 8. We won on a Walk off HR in the 9th. That wasn't bad

Never posted on this board before, but I had a thought about the Correa free agency and wanted to see what a bunch of Astros fans thought about it. Could be crazy, but hear me out.

If you're the Astros, why not consider offering a 2 year, $120 million dollar deal to Correa. It doesn't seem like the Astros will be willing to give a 10 year, $300+ mill deal and a 4-5 year deal doesn't make sense from Correa's standpoint because he'd be too old to get another massive deal.

You have $65 mill coming off the books with Greinke and Verlander.

You have this incredible core locked up on very affordable deals, and you convince Correa to come back for two years to win a title or 2 while making a ludicrous amount of money and then at 29, he can still get an 8-10 year massive deal.

You pay Correa an exorbitant amount of money in the middle of his prime without have to pay him $30+ a year during the back end of his 30s.

Who says no to this? The Astros, Correa, or both?

Just strange to see a team systematically stop hitting like that though. I can see a few guys cooling off but the entire lineup?

Backe threw 8 one hit shutout innings in game 5 of the 2004 NLCS which put us up 3-2. Game was 0-0 until Kent hit the walk off. Talk about pressure.

I don't want to talk about the rest of the series.

Charlie Morton vs Chase Utley K (after having to bat in the 9th) is the single greatest pitch in Astros history

My question is IMPORTANCE. The Nolan game was great but what did it get us? We dont know yet what this years outcome will be but as we stand here now that was just a filthy, gutsy performance. You hoped to get 5-6 innings to let the bullpen catch their breath and he just went and dealt for 8 and gave us an all arms ready for the next 2 games.

Correa. There's no way he passes up guaranteed money for something that might happen in two years. He could get hurt. He could be in a car accident. World War 3 could happen. He wants his payday and he's made that abundantly clear.

Great game all the way around. My favorite image from the night was Framber walking off after the 6th inning (I think) with a smile on his face. He knew he was great tonight, and it was fun to see him enjoy it.

They also pitched smarter. Stopped throwing non competitive pitches way out of the zone and the walks went down. Walks are killers.

This is far from over. Boston is a really good offensive team. They can hurt you bad if you make mistakes even if you aren't tipping pitches.

If this is your criteria then Javier and the rest of the pen last night are in the discussion. That was a VERY important outing by those guys.

We've seen enough from Correa to let him walk. We all know this year was about getting paid. He's mister coast and every slight injury is vacation time as soon as he gets paid.

I love how he embraces the hate and competes but he's not a after a big contract guy. My opinion.

They showed it move around then turn off.

And besides how the fack would Cora know what reflective tape is put up behind the CF wall.

Correa is a really good hitter, great shortstop with a cannon for an arm, and the team leader . He is extremely valuable . Having said that , I wouldn't go any more than 6 yrs at
Maybe $35mm per. Anything over that and it becomes about the lack of flexibility with the rest of the team. Maybe I'd do 4 yrs at $40mm per but $60mm per is just too much
