0 extra base hits for white sox at Minute Maid

"Home field advantage" they start bombing. Fishy indeed.

Recipe for W today

1. Urquidy pitch solid at least into the 6th
2. Keep putting the ball in play, and eliminate the strikeouts
3. Playoff Altuve and Correa show up
4. Graveman - Pressly in the final six outs with a lead

If three of those things happen then I think we win

Point 2 is dependent on a consistent zone and umpire who doesn't think the crowd showed up to see him.

A wide and inconsistent zone is far more punitive to the better hitting and typically more disciplined team.

Astros best asset is their playoff experience. They'll ignore all the distractions and just grind.

Fairly certain if only one of those happen we win

If the White Sox stop stealing signs, the Astros win. Based on LaRussa's propensity for sign stealing in the past, their offense is very suspect.

Now ESPN running with the Are the Astros stealing signs garbage.

I'm not linking it but what a clown show.

The Astros are hit way better at home during GM 1&2 so they have to be stealing signs.

Meanwhile the White Sox are hitting better way at home during GM 3.

What a fckn clown show.

I don't necessarily think that. I think it's probably just home field advantage.

SURPRISE!!!! Guess what???

Teams typically play better at home where they're more comfortable and don't have to deal with the opposing crowd.

The technical term for it is home field advantage and there's a reason teams play for it.

Logic be damned. White Sox all of sudden erupted for 13 runs playing at home. They must be stealing signs, too, right?

Fk 'em.

Quote:

CHICAGO -- White Sox reliever Ryan Tepera implied that the Astros may have been stealing signs in Games 1 and 2 of their AL Division Series after Chicago won the third game Sunday night.
Houston was going for a sweep after it rolled to a pair of impressive victories at home. But it struck out 16 times in a 12-6 loss at Chicago after it struck out a total of 16 times in the first two games. The AL West champions went down in order in each of the last five innings.

Tepera, who worked two perfect innings, noted the difference between the Astros at home and on the road.
"Yeah. It is what it is. They've obviously had a reputation of doing some sketchy stuff over there," he said. "It's just, we can say that it's a little bit of a difference. I think you saw the swings and misses tonight compared to, you know, the first two games at Minute Maid. But that's not really the story, you know? We come here to play. We're going to compete. We're not going to worry about what they're going to do.

"All we have to do is execute pitches and they can't hit them anyways."
Game 4 of the best-of-five series is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Chicago, but there is rain in the forecast.
The Astros were disciplined by Major League Baseball after it found the team used electronics to steal signs during their run to the 2017 World Series title and again in the 2018 season.
MLB's investigation found Houston used a video feed from a center-field camera to see and decode the opposing catcher's signs during home games. Players banged on a trash can to signal to batters what was coming, believing it would improve the batter's odds of getting a hit.
Manager AJ Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow were fired in the fallout, but no players were punished after commissioner Rob Manfred granted them immunity as part of the league's investigation.
Sign stealing is a legal and time-honored part of baseball as long as it is done with the naked eye -- say, by a baserunner standing on second. Using technology is prohibited.

The chances of playing today are pretty slim I think. That is an unfortunate turn of events with Rodon getting the start and a bullpen that just had to cover 22 outs last night.

If it rains, we'd makeup the game on Tuesday, right? I wonder if Greinke would be available for us.

Lance will be on regular rest on Tuesday, then Framber would be on regular rest on Wednesday.

Not to mention Urquidy would also be more than available either day.

It would be incredibly fortunate for us. Our bullpen got misused all night last night, and we need a break. I don't think Urquidy goes incredibly deep, so it saves us from more of Dusty's BS.

My biggest concern is having to break in the action and that taking Urquidy out of the game.

I would keep Lance in the chamber for a potential home game 5. The juicebox would be an unreal environment for him to feed off of.

This blows my mind. Astros scored 6 & 9 runs at home and then scored 6 runs in Chicago. Meanwhile, Chicago scored 1 & 4 runs in Houston, but scored 12 in Chicago. If we are going to play that game, then the White Sox look WAY more fishy than the Astros.
