TK is great because he's not the typical overly straight laced old school broadcaster (like Ford is IMO) but he also has a great voice.

He and Blum mesh really well and give the broadcast a relaxed but very professional vibe. The laugh and cut up but they also add some good insight.

Throw in Julia and her baseball knowledge and relationship with the players and I think that team is hard to beat.

Your point is why I like TK. Astros after dark wouldnt be possible for me (zzzz) with "normal" guy.

They compliment each other and they have a really good balance of keeping it interesting and relevant. I've watched other broadcasts in which they go off an tangents for multiple innings on stupid ass **** that has no relevance to the game or even baseball.

whhhaaaaaaat? TK is fabulous. When Ive heard Ford do TV he says too much, he speaks like a radio guy and that would take a while to get over so lets just keep going with what we've got

For as good as White Sox pitching has been this year, Astros starting pitchers have done pretty awesome too

I listened to the podcast. The wording was that "they picked up the option for another year". If that's the case, then TK probably had something similar, so chances are good he'll be back as well.

I bet a lot less than you would think. Read something a while back and I think they averaged less than $100k maybe? $200k for the best ones. Team announcers, not network.

Lucas Giolito vs the Astros in his career:



so the last 2 times he has pitched against the Astros he's gone 18 innings (2 complete games), given up 1 earned run, 7 hits, 17 K's and only 1 walk...

Lets hope they go with Lynn in game one lol

I guess I'm talking about shots of our players actually playing. The only one I saw was Garcia getting rocked for a HR vs the Giants. I missed Diaz.

Blum & TK are top shelf. They are knowledgeable, humble, respect the game, its history and their place in it and obviously genuinely appreciative of their jobs. Aside from that they have great chemistry and do a good job of calling the game, filling dead space with anecdotes when necessary but more importantly being quiet and letting the game present itself when it's the right time to do so. They do all this without tripping over themselves or competing with each other or trying to make themselves the star of the show.

I have lived in or spend significant time in half a dozen other baseball cities and watched plenty of team broadcasts over the years so I've got some real perspective. Seems like some folks have gotten used to them and maybe take them for granted but I promise you they are as good as it gets.

I can't seem to find this, but what is the World Series tie breaker for home field if they have the same record? i.e such as Astros vs Brewers this year? and they didn't play this year either, right?
