Breggy had zero power this season, even before the injury. He can't even turn on one and put it in the Crawford Boxes. I am glad he is getting base hits, but he needs to regain some power.
I agree. The offense is more than capable of producing runs. They just don't always do it.

Unless for some reason Bregman's decreasing power numbers convince Carlos to decrease his asking price or years desired it will have no bearing on the front office and their willingness to retain him.

How the hell does MLB screw up Memorial and Labor Day so badly?
Every team should be playing and it should be all afternoon games on both holidays. Maybe one game at night for a special edition of Sunday Night Baseball or something on the national stage. Other than that all afternoon games.
There's tons of fans at home hanging out with nothing to watch.

A huge what if. What if we had resigned CFM? Arguably there is no need to get Greinke. You keep all those players and you get a pitcher in house that you can keep deciding to redo on rotating 2 year deals.

What if you did both? Greinke has been a great trade so far, I'd say. Gave us a legit chance in 2019, and has stayed healthy and effective since being traded.
But CFM has also continued to be dominant. I guess our front office decided between JV and CFM and went with JV instead. Big mistake in retrospect but you never know who will get injured, JV seemed like the more "stable" choice.
one thing about Charlie...he posts a great W-L record wherever he goes (in the last 5 years).

Playing him like that is a great way to jeopardize having him play more games this year, as well as potentially causing long term damage for the rest of his contract.
Maybe they're legit to the point that they consider ride him till he breaks and if he goes down for a year+ or more they at least have insurance to recoup losses. Can't get insurance for only missing half of every season.
