Pettis has a health issue . Not sure about the timeline for his return. Maybe will coach home games only would be my guess as travel could cause stress but that's pure speculation on my part.

I could certainly be wrong (and I hope I'm wrong) but Straw just doesn't pass the look test for me at the plate. It's like his approach doesn't match his set of tools. Pitchers can challenge him with fastballs up without stress knowing that even if Straw gets good wood on it, he only has warning track power anyway. Just flies out to CF/RF most of the time.

To me, his toolbox only works if he can be creative with the bat like Altuve and put ball where defenses aren't. Make infielders have to move far to field the ball and use his speed. I just don't think he has that skill set (not many guys do).

It's really early In the season but I feel the same way about Straw. He's a weapon on base but not sure he'll get there at the plate.
