Crane fixing the logo after getting a hold of the franchise helped a lot

Another factor though is merchandise revenue, and I think the Red Sox still sell quite a bit more nationwide than the Astros. Think they also draw more ticket revenue.
This was my thought as well. It's not that they're crushing fastballs, it's that they're laying off some really good pitches. Yes, we have wasted some pitches in instances where we shouldn't have. But last night I can think of one in particular that was a filthy slider about 2" outside and at bottom of the zone to JD Martinez. Bottom of the 1st, count was 1-2. He barely took the bat off his shoulder. The next two pitches were clearly balls and he ended up walking.htxag09 said:
For everyone pointing out stats for the Red Sox . Boston was 3rd to last in all of mlb with a chase percentage of 30.2%. Mlb average was 27.7%. I'm on the phone and can't find postseason advanced metrics. But seems like it's closer to 10% than 30%. And sure, we've wasted a lot of pitches, but let's not act like that's not normal in the regular season. Let's also not act like they haven't laid of breaking balls that are an inch or two down.
Heck that 30% chase percentage may very well be why we're wasting pitches. Cause they chased those throughout the year.

Whether our guys were tipping or they're stealing signs, either way, some of their takes have been completely out of line with their season averages. The fact that the bullpen proceeded to make them look very normal the rest of the game just screams that something is/was up.

The coastal centric nature of sports media seems foolish given that demographic growth continues to be elsewhere. I guess the idea is that people keep and pass down their sports team loyalties no matter where they live. Still, if you had a sports outlet that just reported on sports in a straight manner I bet it would do well.
One of the things that entertain me is that everyone says Houston is a small market. They may not be Boston or NY but their fan base is a lot bigger than anyone gives them credit for. Even after the scandal I think the base grew. A LA/Houston WS would draw just as much if not a bigger watching than Boston/LA.
Dusty Baker said Meyers “was actually worse” yesterday. Meyers usually plays against lefties, but Dusty said Siri “hits lefties good” and that was best option he had.

Meyers had a setback and they can’t replace him on the roster because it’s an existing injury.
I listen to Russo regularly and 95% of the time he is pro-Houston. He bags on the Yankees for being little whiney *****es about the sign stealing.Big Al 1992 said:

But to be fair he does suck vs 4 seamers and sliders from the left side (what Sale will be throwing).Farmer1906 said:
Chas has a .830 OPS vs lefties this year.

Siri's sample size is too small.
Jake rakes 4 seamers & sliders from lefties. It's too bad he can't go today.
José Altuve has more postseason home runs (21 in his career) than the Colorado Rockies franchise (20)

I’m privileged to be in the @astros clubhouse & honored to be around these guys. It’s a pleasure to be a part of a great team. Last night was just an exhibition of being a “pro”. There are 4 left, then 3, 2, then 1. We all love October. When the leaves turn brown we’ll be around https://t.co/IMf087UODp

May as well throw a wild card there. Siri could go 0-4 4K or 3-4 with 2 HR and a SB. One is as likely as the other.
You know, you really could say the same about Chas. The outcomes won't swing as wild as your scenario, but the 0-4 or 3-4 is the same. Meaning, they are both unknowns. Kind of sucks when that's right in front of the ultimate known commodity.Mathguy64 said:

My concern isn't about Siri going 4-4 vs. 0-4. My concern is him having a TOOTBLAN or brain fart in the field. He has shown multiple times that he is cut from the Carlos Gomez cloth that makes you do a McHugh WTF!? both on the base paths as well as in the field.
