To be fair to the Yankees, being able to catch the ball as a catcher is important and Gary Sanchez doesnt do that very well. He is also only hitting .204 so a backup hitting .181 isnt exactly a big drop off.

I said it a couple of games back. I think Maton is missing his SpyderTack. His drop off comes almost to the day that they started checking guys.
