If anybody needs a single ticket for Friday I've got one.
Paid $85 for it so just looking to get close to what I paid.

AJ Pierzynzki calling this series blows.
annual reminder for those with surround sound: disconnecting the middle speaker usually mutes the announcers but keeps the rest of the audio, crowd noises, etc.

An Astros Dodgers rematch in the WS would be such a salty series.

Correa and Altuve will take over Springer this offseason. Small chance Bregman can over take him as well.

Would not have guessed Colby Jack Rasmus with more dingers than Bags and Biggio - says more about how cold those 2 were in playoffs over the years.

We have a huge sub shortage, and since I missed 9 days of school with COVID I cant. It is what it is.

Springer is currently tied for 4th all time in postseason home runs. Altuve is tied for 6th, and Correa tied for 9th all time.

PLEASE LET BREGMAN OVERTAKE SPRINGER THIS YEAR

ALSO, HAPPY BREGMAN DAY,

OCTOBER 5TH BREGMAN HAS HIT A HOMERUN EVERY SINGLE TIME HE HAS PLAYED, NOT SUPRISING MLB DIDNT SCHEDULE US THIS YEAR

And just for the record, Altuve and Correa could jump to top 2 & 3 all time this postseason. Jeter is 3rd with 20 and Bernie Williams 2nd with 22. Manny is first with 29.

While I understand what you mean…your vacation days are yours to use. Don't put them to waste because the district isn't doing their job to find subs. COVID dang sure isn't your fault and anything to consider.

When I taught I was the same way, I perpetually pushed them off and stockpiled my days…then a made a career change and lost nearly 40 days.

We'll be interesting to see how much playing time Pujols gets to get into the top 3, and how prolific Cruz will be. 4 active players could all get into the top 5 all time this postseason.

Just because I'm a little bit of a math nerd and curious, I came up with a 162 game pace (assuming 700 plate appearances)

Astros do really well overall, but man Nelson Cruz stands out in a big way.

And these numbers are a perfect response to anyone saying 'This offense has sucked for an entire half season. What makes you think it'll be any different in the playoffs?'

https://theathletic.com/2859486/2021/10/05/ranking-the-10-most-dangerous-hitters-in-the-mlb-playoffs-with-insights-from-pitchers-inside-baseball/?source=twitterhq

Quote:

9. Kyle Tucker, Astros
2021 stats:
.294/.359/.557, 30 HR, 92 RBI, 14 SB, .916 OPS, 147 wRC+, 4.8 fWAR

In a few years, Tucker may be several spots higher on this list. He arguably already should be. In his first full MLB season, Tucker has put the baseball world on notice, improving from a plus hitter in 2018-19 to one of the best in the AL in 2021. There's red all over his Statcast page. He has pop and strong bat-to-ball skills. Now, at 24, Tucker needs to prove it in the playoffs after posting a .656 OPS the past two postseasons. He's prone to chasing more than the Astros would like, and that tendency will be tested by playoff pitching.
Quote:

7. Carlos Correa, Astros
2021 stats: .279/.366/.485, 26 HR, 92 RBI, .851 OPS, 134 wRC+, 5.8 fWAR
Pitcher's take: "He's been in the spotlight a lot, and he seems to embrace it."
Correa, the Astros shortstop, is poised to make a fortune in free agency this offseason, but first he's focused on another deep playoff run with a lineup that produced the most runs in the majors this season. Correa already has had a large share of postseason success, with an .869 OPS in 63 career playoff games. Correa doesn't have elite speed, but opposing pitchers note that he prepares well for every matchup, makes consistent contact and hits the ball hard to all fields. "He can beat you in a lot of different ways," one pitcher said.
Quote:

Honorable mentions: Tyler O'Neill, Austin Riley, Mookie Betts, Justin Turner, Will Smith, Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, Luis Robert, Yasmani Grandal, Kris Bryant, Darin Ruf, Brandon Lowe, Mike Zunino and Willy Adames.
LOL at Aaron Judge being number 1 on this list

That's weird because I don't have a sub and I'm not signed in or anything. Oh well here is the list.

10. Buster Posey, Giants
9. Kyle Tucker, Astros
8. Rafael Devers, Red Sox
7. Carlos Correa, Astros
6. Trea Turner, Dodgers
5. Giancarlo Stanton, Yankees
4. Corey Seager, Dodgers
3. Paul Goldschmidt, Cardinals
2. Freddie Freeman, Braves
1. Aaron Judge, Yankees

Yeah, that is very strange. Thanks!

I'm curious what the pitchers based it on. To me, you have to either pick people who always hit well in the playoffs ( Altuve, Correa higher) or people who've had great seasons ( Tucker higher, Yordan ). I'm not sure that is what we got from this list.

I've decided that since I can't be there in person for the postseason this year, due largely in part to living in Baltimore, I'm going to whip up a heavy southern meal for my friends here on Thursday for the start of our march to the World Series.

Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and a second side still TBD. Maybe some kind of jalapeno corn. The only Texas beer I can really find here is Shiner so I'll get a case of that.
