the Red Sox have 12 games left. The Blue Jays have 14 games left.

it seems strange how many playoff contenders in the American League are just marking time since the all-star break.

the White Sox are 30-29 in the second half.

only the Blue Jays and the Yankees (during the 13-game winning streak) have been hot

Yes. The only way we don't make it at this point is a combination of us losing a lot and the As winning a lot. And if that happens we would be behind the WC race too. Realistically? It's Division or bust.

The team with the most losses that still has chance to make the playoffs is Seattle with 69 losses (nice). So that magic number is the same as winning the division.
