At the current rate of ABs this season, he's at 93 through 22 games played (he had one game off). Let's assume he plays 57, since dusty will likely give him another game or two off
He would get about 240 at bats that count for stats at this rate , not plate appearances. So he needs 60 hits this season finish the season at .250 ... he is currently at 16. So I think closer to .225 is likely in that scenario like you said.
To hit .250, he needs 44 hits in 35 games, which is doable for sure. But it's getting harder to dig out of the whole since he is pressing so hard.
