Triple followed by a sac fly as they win 1-0.

Only 2nd time in baseball history and never in a 9 inning game.

Seems like a lot of unlikely and rare baseball events this year.

^that or we just make up new comparisons and combinations every year in order to make this century-old game more fascinating...

You mean 1 base runner with no hits?

Didn't the Astros lose a 10 inning game that way?

They had one hit and only that one base runner. No walks or errors. A team has never won a 9 inning game with that stat line.

That's kind of hard to believe.

That's surprising there haven't been more games that ended up 1-0 with the one run being a solo homerun and no other hits in the game by that team.

Texas won a game years ago vs. KC 2-1. Kevin Appier threw a 1-hitter, giving up a walk then a bomb to Palmeiro.

That's still two baserunners.

Harvey Haddix retired the first 36 consecutive batters, but isn't credited with a perfect game... because the game wasn't won.

I think the no walk thing was much rarer in the past. still surprising that a lone solo home run and 1-0 win had never happened before
