I think some of the point of contention regarding his defense is the weird routes he sometimes takes to the ball when it's in the air. This doesn't bother me too much as I like his speed to catch fly balls.

However, the part that is not arguable is his arm is not as strong as you would like. That's for me the bigger part of contention. A strong arm can save runs, which is huge in the postseason.

Hardest part is to determine if his offensive production out-weighs the weak arm.
