I was looking for game 1 odds and came across this bleacher report article:

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2800623-houston-astros-vs-boston-red-sox-alcs-game-1-odds-analysis-mlb-betting-pick

MLB betting line: The Red Sox opened as -110 favorites (wager $110 to win $100); the total is at seven runs, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

Why the Astros Can Pay on the MLB Lines
Houston may be a slight underdog in Game 1 but is favored to win the series as an even better team statistically than last year. The Astros won two more games during the regular season this year than last and four more on the road, where they led MLB with an outstanding 57-24 mark.
In fact, Houston's road record was better than every other team's in baseball at home except that of Boston, which went 57-24 at Fenway. The Astros will send Justin Verlander (16-9, 2.52 ERA) to the mound in the series opener, and he earned three-quarters of his wins away from home in 2018, going 12-2 with a 2.14 ERA.

Why the Red Sox Can Pay on the MLB Lines
The Red Sox will count on ace Chris Sale (12-4, 2.11 ERA) to come through for them in this crucial spot, and he picked up a victory in Game 1 of the AL Division Series versus the New York Yankees after allowing two runs and five hits in 5.1 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Sale let his team down in last year's ALDS matchup and will be out to redeem himself here, and Boston's bats have improved since then, with the two league MVP favorites in Mookie Betts and J.D. Martinez. While Betts is expected to win MVP honors, Martinez has been much better in the playoffs with a .357 batting average, one home run and six RBI in the four-game series win over New York.

Smart Betting Pick

Martinez may make the difference for the Red Sox this time around, as he has hit well against most of Houston's pitchers over the course of his career, including Verlander (2-for-3 with two RBI). That said, this is a must-win matchup for the Red Soxand especially Sale. If they lose Game 1, they will be big dogs to win the series. That will not happen.

I still worry about Keuchel a bit. He's been solid down the stretch and hopefully our bats can come alive earlier to give him some run support

The 2007 Rockies were perfect in a twisted way: 3-0 in the Division Series, 4-0 in the NLCS, and then 0-4 in the World Series.

In current setup I don't think so, the Dodgers won 6 in a row before losing a single game to the Cubs.

Our bullpen gave up just 1 hit and 0 walks in 3 innings of relief.

the 1976 Reds swept the NLCS 3-0 and the World Series 4-0.

back-to-back sweeps in the playoffs...in any rounds...are rare

Heck, just winning that many games in a row during the regular season is fairly uncommon.

This is true ... but this team at home in the playoffs is a different animal

The one hit was a lead off single in the 9th with a 5 run lead. They dominated

2 of the 3 bullpen arms are really starters too. Incredible amount of arms on this team.

Not concerned about a sweep. Just want to win the series. Their offense can and probably will score runs at some point.

Random people starting to get on the thread and don't understand baseball gods.

I offer a tribute to appease them.

And her name is Dillon Harper if anyone wants or needs to study some more or "for a friend"

Astros -132 on the moneyline and climbing. Vegas has little faith in David Price.

Eat plenty of baked beans that way by the 4th or 5th inning you will have positive energy to channel to the surrounding Bostonians.

What a game last night!! This team continues to do what it does...Destroy bullpens.

The Red Sox are in deep trouble with Price going tonight. I thought from the start if we split then it wasn't coming back to Boston but if we take 2 it could very well be done in 4.

And what was Cora so upset about? I thought it was pretty well called game behind the plate. I told y'all Hinch would manage circles around him and then goes out and gets rung in gm 1.

The ball/strike call he was arguing was outside. It was bases loaded and a full count. I'd have been pretty posted too

It was outside relative to the TBS strike zone box, but blue was calling that pitch (and continued to call that pitch) all game. Overall, I thought he did a pretty good job behind the plate. Boston was *****ing about almost every called strike, but refused to adjust their zone accordingly.

Mike's Pastry; awesome cannolis. Absolute best thing about Boston for me. Might be a little too filling before a baseball game, though.

Mike's is excellent. Neptune Oyster served one of those meals that I'm still talking about five years later, but you definitely won't have time on a game day. U.S.S Constitution was my favorite historical stop.

Whatever you do, don't climb the Bunker Hill monument.
