The good news we've heard this before.

It's a solid pen. They're a bit overworked right now but they'll be fine.

Extra arm would be nice but I don't think it means we're one and done.

The sequence in the 8th inning against Betances (or was it the 9th?) was completely inexcusable. He walks two batters in a row, and doesn't even come close to the zone on the second walk. Then yuli comes up swinging out of his shoes on balls nowhere near the zone and K's. Gattis grounds into what should have been a DP, and marisnick does marisnick things and can't even get the bat off his shoulder.

The yankees defense was begging for the Astros to win that game, and they said "no thanks" and handed it right back.

I don't necessarily disagree. Everyone has to do their job.

And it's also the offenses job to score runs when gifted errors that put people in position to score.

I would have ideally liked to have seen the bullpen pick up the offense tonight though.

I thought they had turned it around a couple weeks ago, but I was wrong. Thank goodness they won yesterday. Need to win this series badly for payback and going into the big one this weekend.

Well, smart ass, we had 21 blown saves last year.... and if we have 7 through 56 games per your stats... we're actually on pace for about 20 this year.

Look, no one is happy about the last 2 blown saves, but there's a reason you're a fan and not our GM. After the first blown save this year half this thread would have traded the farm for some closer who could be just as bad. This team is still well-built for the playoffs if they get there.

Mismatch tomorrow so I don't like our chances to take the series.

Take your Rockets rage elsewhere. The NBA sucks and there have been far worse three day stretches in Houston sports history...

That and our pen is overused and struggling. Need vintage Keuchel to go out and throw eight scoreless against the Yankees.

Last year it was the Jeter Day Massacre on ESPN in primetime. Same thing this year. Leave after a night game and have a quick turn around for a game Thursday.

It's baseball. We beat em last night. They're good.

Oddly I think tonight is worse than the Cleveland game for a few reasons. One, Sabathia was not particularly sharp while Bauer was dominant until late in the game. Two, the Yankees made little league errors throughout the game and five of them. Finally, the Devenski inning had a walk and a home run. The Indians had some incredible two-strike at bats and an unusual BABIP with no homers. There is some luck invloved in getting seven batted balls to find some grass for a base hit. We also stranded several runners tonight. Yuli had a bad AB.

But win tomorrow and it's a winning road trip. Against playoff teams.

I get that it's only 2 games, but this was out 7th blown save this year so far. And these bullpen issues have gone for 2 years now. And we got rid of Gregorson

Question about the actual game... was Jake's AB in the 9th a pinch hit AB? Or had he subbed in defensively already prior to that?

I ask because it seems like it would've been a prime spot to pinch hit Correa and then put Jake in the outfield in the bottom half for him
