To pile on, Springer (our best hitter this year) out for a least a day or two after the bean to the elbow.

Offense is so frustrating right now

Is the the batters eye? Is it the wives and girlfriends? Poor cooking at home? What in the world is with our offense at MMP. Last year started the same way. We found our pace in Home playoff games to say the least but dang our home vs road batting splits are odd.

It was bad at home last season, but this is worse.

Not that the AB was that good but to his defense he's our last chance so I really don't mind him hacking away. With two outs and Gattis behind him if he doesn't get a run it ends with Gattis anyways.

The road home slpits are baffling and unexplainable.

Oh I know it was bad last season, especially early. It did seem to get more explosive in the playoff stretch but there were multiple months of bad home offense last season.

I doubt they got shut out at home 4 times all of last year combined.

On the bright side, we aren't the Dodgers. And our designated hitter (who hits in the 8 hole for crying out loud) raised his average to .196.

If I were Morton, I'd say "thanks for the gesture, but I'll go back to the 5 slot and pitch on the road next week".

How many pitchers do the Astros have to make look like Sandy Koufax? You're going to get shut out on occasion. Hell, the 27 Yankees were shut out at times......but through what is now a fourth of a season this has become a reoccurring joke with this team.

Face it. There are three hitters on this club - and one (Altuve) no longer has any power for some unknown reason. Just not the same guy.......and the overall Team batting average is down thirty points from last season.

Watching this lineup on most any night is like watching paint dry.

They still have a ceiling of 90 wins thanks to the starting pitching, but it's not a given that they can keep pitching at this level. A lot of good it did tonight.

Jesus. Some of you desperately need to learn how to withhold from hitting submit after losses.

We still have, by far, the best run differential in the majors. You don't amass that if you "only have 3 hitters." The bats will even out in the long run, it's a highly statistically likely, and this team will win 95-100 games. Once again, breathe.

I'd actually say it's more likely to have a ceiling of 90 wins than a floor of 90. This team barely got to 100 last year and that was with a historic offense. We haven't even had any injuries yet.

There are serious concerns on the hitting side of things. Altuve has no power. Correa has taken a step back it seems. The only extra base hits he gets are broken bat to left or poked doubles to right. How does Derek Fisher almost have the same homeruns as him?

Here's the good news: Jeff Luhnow and AJ Hinch can see the same things we are. They are aware of the issues I'm sure (even if they have to tell the media they "aren't worried"). With the options this team has in AAA and in the trade market, I feel confident they will eventually find a way to fix this issue by year end.
