Let's stop using injuries as an excuse... the Astros suck right now and they aren't nearly the same team as last year's squad, despite the improved pitching staff. The lineup was down this year before all the injuries.

All that being said, we can still make noise in October and win it all in the end

I mean they're on the exact same pace as last year's squad aren't they? Maybe one game off

I always respect how you Pollyannas can keep the faith on the big picture,, but at this point you're sliding into an Iraqi Minister of Defense shtick. This team's margin for error is gone. Hopefully they get back to winning very soon, but the 2017 team ain't walking out of that locker room.

You do realize that repeating in baseball isn't easy and has only been done like 14 times.

That was one of the worst series in the history of MMP despite throwing Verlander, Cole, Morton, and Keuchel our there against a mediocre Mariners team in a series that mattered. The problem isn't the AAA hitters as Kemp and White have out performed most of the other bats.

This is a team in trouble. We have an elite starting pitching staff but the lineup is built more for beer league softball than constantly putting pressure on the other team. The playoffs are not a given. I'm hoping to turn it around hard but am worried.

I'm pretty sure in August last year we lost like 10 of 14.

How are the AAA hitters not one of the major problems? If it's not then what is?
