I don't understand why an NL team didn't make a bigger push for Ohtani. Seems like he'd be a lot more effective when pitching:hitting in NL and would provide an absolute advantage over the rest of the league.

Smith to me has always looked like a guy who has getting run out of town on a rail by the fan base in his future, esp without the goodwill of being on the team last year.

I can agree with that and the dinger had nothing to do with umpire but at the same time Smith got the first three batter's out.
