Astros lost 2 games the Yankees were favored to win & remain on pace to win in 6 games.

World is over.

As a native Houstonian, this is expected. When your expectations are snake-belly low, all your surprises are happy ones.

There's a reason they created the ignore feature. Only time I've seen him post since the August issues is when people quote him.

I love when the photo of said individual does not match their current looks, dude has put on some serious LB's, oh and his take sucks.

And anyone claiming that this series should've been over after being up 2-0 and this is a huge epic collapse is ignorant.

Everyone who's ever watched baseball for any significant amount of time knows that the series really starts once you back on the road.

And as for Hinch pulling McCullers...I can see it being a tad early and I may agree with you, but the BP was gonna have to pitch at some point. And they all sucked.

Would you have been ok with it he was pulled after 8 and it was blown then? No one in that BP could get an out and with a four run lead you've got to think even if the first guy struggles someone out there will hold that lead.

Quit watching when he said everyone knew the BP was gassed. Most of them haven't pitched since Game 1.

After stewing over this for a bit I think I'm most upset LMJ didn't get the win. He did 100%more than I (and probably everyone else) expected and came out and pitched a gem and left with. 3 run lead.

May not read any more till tomorrow morning

He did his job. Unfortunately, the bullpen didn't. Must win with Keuchel pitching tomorrow.

You know that I don't criticize Hinch on here really but my biggest issue is WHY NOT BRING IN PEACOCK TO CLOSE OUT THE GAME?

Instead he gets all cute and tries to string together all his other arms. Peacock could've pitched the last 3 innings and he's been money this year. If we don't use him there then why is he even on the roster? Makes zero sense to me. That was the prime opportunity.

Ok I've calmed down. We have 2 of the hottest pitchers in baseball on deck. If by some chance we don't win both, being at home for game 7 is huge.

I didn't read the last 3 or so pages, and I apologize if I'm beating a dead horse here, but:

1) We pulled lance too early. He had been nails and I think you have to see what he does with the next batter. He threw ONE pitch that inning.

2) I feel like not throwing peacock today was the equivalent of going into halftime of a football game with 3 time outs left. What are we possibly waiting for with him?

I think that hinch massively blew these two decisions, and I think he has to take the blame for this L.

And no, I'm not Monday morning quarterbacking... I said these things as they happened.

I consider Lance McCullers to be my favorite current baseball player (along with Springer). He's got electric stuff. We saw it tonight, but he has a history of losing control and coming unraveled. He rarely makes it deep & after giving up an absolute bomb with a PC in the mid 80s I can see the quick hook. We had a rested pen thanks to Verlander & McHugh. We used our best guys and they got rocked. That's going to happen. It ****ing sucks, but I think Hinch played it right.

It's a new series now. 0-0 and we have home field advantage with 2 Cy Young winners ready to go. I like our chances.

in hindsight, it was too early to pull Lance, but the guy doesn't go deep into games.

In 24 starts, he's made it into or past the 6th 5 times and not at all since he came back from injury.

That had to go into the decision to pull him after Judge's moonshot.

All the BS aside, we have to win 2 out of the next 3, with 2 of those being at home. We have two bonafide studs going the next two days, with peacock in the pen and a damn good pitcher in Morton for a necessary game 7, or even potentially out of the pen the next two days.

We have to believe the bats show some life at some point. Honestly, if they don't we are screwed anyways.

We are likely still favorites to win the series... just gotta get it done. Perspective.

I don't know and that's a good point. I'd be curious to know. Maybe he's a last resort option so he can start a game 7?

Again though you've got to feel confident Devo, Mjsgrove, and Giles would protect a 3 run lead for 8 outs.

Maybe the question is why Devo instead why pull Lance? I don't have an issue with pulling Lance when he did. Like I said he was going to pull him in two more outs anyways. No way he was coming back for the 8th even if he gets the last two outs in the 7th. Does handing it to the BP two outs later make a difference?

If we left Lance in the game, he wasn't going to keep pitching well. History has told us that. So the next pitcher was going to inherit a runner. It's more advantageous to have a clean infield. I don't blame Hinch for pulling Lance when he did.

I'm not sure Devo had been warming up the previous half inning. I thought I heard the announcer say Devo had just started throwing in the BP. If that's the case, it might have been more beneficial to let Devo warm up some more, even if that meant inheriting a runner.

If Peacock was absolutely not going to pitch for whatever reason, then Devo was not a bad choice. I think I would have preferred Musgrove to come in first with the clean bases, but then Devo would have come out next anyways. Liriano? Ha. Gregersuck? Haha. Harris? No.

Once Musgrove was going to be pulled, the game was over. There was no one in the bullpen that could get out of that situation. Keuchel or Verlander maybe, but it's not that type of game. Giles should be been kept away just for the confidence alone. Let Musgrove give up the runs and let one of the other scrubs mop up the end.

The only thing that makes sense is that Hinch was trying to preserve Peacock to start tomorrow as some kind of low-key switch to keep Verlander fresh for the WS. Hinch has shown a tendency to put the cart before the horse so if we were winning, I can easily him making that kind of decision up 4-0 in a game we haven't won yet.

Is there a huge difference between Joe & Peacock? Both have been lights out out of the pen (earlier in the season for Peacock) & down the stretch.

Maybe matchups? I don't have the data in front of me.

From July 22 to the end of the year Joe gave up a grand total of 5 runs. I trusted him only slightly less than Dragon & Kenneth.

Maybe once Lance went deep enough Peacock got moved to long relief for game 5 if something is up with Dallas. I would much rather rely of him to give you 3 or more than Musgrove or Johnny wholesraff.

I think he's been figured out.

Maybin said when he came over that the Angels had figured out he was tipping his pitches. I wonder if he still is. He's not throwing the COD for strikes so it's either fastballs that he can't get past anyone or hanging changeups.
