Is it fair to let a division winners sit for more than a week to extend the wild card series?

Baseball believes most baseball fans want the opportunity to watch every game live, this is why they have day games.

I understand the reasonings, it's just frustrating. Do away with the two wild card teams and just have the the three division winners and one WC.
I remember how annoying it was when we had day games against the Padres and Braves back when I was in junior high. Trying to listen to Milo between classes on a Walkman to figure out what was happening or rush home after school hoping to see the last few innings.

They just added the second WC team a few years ago because people wanted it, and it adds to a competitive end of the season. Silly to want them to get rid of what they just added.

When are the MVPs announced?

If I recall correctly, it's like a week after the WS

Those start times are going to hurt ratings if Minnesota beats the Yankees.

It also places importance at winning a division. On the other hand, I think with the addition of the second wild card and the one game playoff, they probably should make the schedules a tad more balanced. The schedule should still be weighted by divisions (more games with division foes) but 19 is too many IMO. Lessen the number of games to 14 so that it is possible to face the other 10 teams within the league nine times.

The most sensible thing is to alternate who gets primetime. Give the Indians prime time game 1, 3, 5... and the Astros get 2, 4

Last year, they didn't alternate at all. One series had the later slot the entire LDS.

The post season... when I can actually see Astros games on TV consistently!!! Not sure when Austin turned into "Ranger territory" according to Fox Sports, but they need to stop that crap. It's Austin, how about mixing it up and giving us both! All the die hard fans can buy the mlb pass and watch whoever they want!

This takes me back to the Astros' playoff run in the late 90s when I was still in school, before cell phones, when we had to run and find the coaches in between classes to ask what the score was.
