Just because you bring him in to face a lefty doesn't mean you can't leave him in there.

Why not let Devo face Calhoun here? Hinch really trusts Liriano over Devo and his .106 BAA vs. lefties (excluding that Valbuena AB)?
Valbuena was sitting on it, but you still have to throw your best pitch. It was pitch 12 in the AB. He was bound to groove one at some point. Valbuena was fouling off everything up in the zone.

Our staff has had to chew through 166 pitches tonight 100 of them by the pen after getting 60+ from McCullers. They should be nice and fresh in Arlington.
