What about McHugh? I kind of think I'd be more on board with Verlander, Keuchel, Peacock, McHugh with Morton being first off the pine if McHugh or Peacock struggle. I think Morton's stuff would be electric out of the pen

Whichever pitcher is chosen, it's likely based on analytics and might also depend on who we're facing. I doubt this is just Hinch making a gut decision.

To a certain extent, I think it will be. I seriously doubt we see Beltran starting against a lefty. He's been awful from the right side of the plate this year. I don't think playoff experience can offset that.

Agree with this 100%. I would love to be a fly on the wall in their meetings.

I would think it's a certain type of pitch he doesn't handle well from a lefty. Could even be the trendency of that lefty to pitch to an area where Josh struggles.

Either way, like you said, the analysis certainly goes deeper than what we can see. Would be so interesting to see what types of analysis they run on each player.

Like giving altuve more rest in September. He obviously struggles in September, so I wonder what type of analysis they have done and if it will pay off in the playoffs this year versus 2015.
