How the hell does a team not make a necessary trade, yet the one trade they do make, makes them worse. Unbelievable!!! Only in Houston, could this happen!!!
RELAX DUDE EVERYTHING IS FINE, WE HAVE ALL THESE AWESOME PROSPECTS AND WE ARE GONNA BE SO AWESOME FOR SO MANY YEARS WINNING 90 GAMES AND ZERO WORLD SERIES!!!!!
Come on. Let's be real. We all now if Keuchel and McCullers aren't pitching well, we don't have a great shot. Their uncertainty doesn't make the decisions easy at the deadline.
Here's the biggest question to me: what if we made a move at the deadline this year and didn't win it all? Would the expectation be to make another move at the deadline next year? What if we didn't win it next year? Same thing?
If we're having another good season with a great chance at the post season, THEN YES GDAMMIT YOU MAKE MOVES TO ADDRESS WEAKNESSES
But you literally cannot do it every year. We contract are up you get stuck. The point people make about the prospects is with this in mind. I am for a balance between the two and picking your spot with regards to making big trades. You can't do it every year, but you gotta try at some point.
Let me ask you, if Keuchel and McCullers do not round out into form before thisbplayiffs, are you ok trading prospects for Britton when that help would be marginal at best?
Yes
You cant predict the future you can only asses with the data you have...the data said we needed some help and we got none
But Keuchel had been hurt since June and McCullers had done a stint or two on the DL. He also came back playing like crap, and is out again. Keuchel is most likely still hurt.
Britton would not have helped much in my opinion. He doesn't help you win when you've just about pitched yourself out of games the past two weeks.
