I'm as die-hard of a stros fan as you can get. But to only make one mediocre move on the deadline sucks. There is no reason to hold on to Tucker or Whitley if all of your core players are gone when they get called up

I don't get it though. Assuming the A's were going to charge a premium if the Astros wanted Gray because same division, who else should we have landed? Wilson is really the only one I can think of since obviously Britton and Hand were overvalued by their teams since no one could get a deal done
Yeah, honestly this was just a weird trade deadline. Only one of the major pieces got moved today.NotGibbs said:

The goal is for those guys to become the core players. You are always going to lose guys to free agency, so you have to have the next wave ready to take over.979ag said:

Verlander, Yu, Britton just to name a few.
Once the market was set with Gray we could've used that to our advantage.

Okay, I'll calm down. But my question for y'all is, how are you content with how today went? Please explain
Once the market was set the GMs for DET, TEX, & BAL said thanks but no thanks, we'll keep our guys.Ag_07 said:NotGibbs said:

Watching Baseball Tonight right now and all of the analysts still had Astros #2 or #3 in the league. We still have a team capable of winning it all.979ag said:

Not content...wish we got a better lefty reliever. But also not bemoaning the future and calling for the downfall of the franchise. As people are pointing out, no one outside of Gray got moved today, so it's pretty clear teams were overvaluing their pitchers.979ag said:

we have no idea what the real status is with more than half of our 6 all stars. Luhnow does.979ag said:
