I'm as die-hard of a stros fan as you can get. But to only make one mediocre move on the deadline sucks. There is no reason to hold on to Tucker or Whitley if all of your core players are gone when they get called up

Yeah, honestly this was just a weird trade deadline. Only one of the major pieces got moved today.

I think it is a dumb move for Padres not to trade Hand. They need prospects badly.

The goal is for those guys to become the core players. You are always going to lose guys to free agency, so you have to have the next wave ready to take over.

It's not like the Astros crapped the bed. None of those guys were traded. Would you have preferred the Astros to way over pay so that you could ***** about that?

Just because market was set does not mean other GMs would be willing to accept that price. Dumb move on Rangers part not to trade Yu for best offer they received.

Not content...wish we got a better lefty reliever. But also not bemoaning the future and calling for the downfall of the franchise. As people are pointing out, no one outside of Gray got moved today, so it's pretty clear teams were overvaluing their pitchers.

we have no idea what the real status is with more than half of our 6 all stars. Luhnow does.

Obviously I don't know what was being asked for but I don't think we would've over payed.

And like I've said in the past I think with our depth and drafting ability we could afford to overpay.

Don't get me wrong, I wish we made more moves. But I'm not willing to over pay. If some of these guys were traded, and we sat pat because we wanted to hoard prospects, I would've been pissed. But clearly all these teams thought the asking price was way too much
