Honestly it pisses me off that Hoyt was only credited with 1 ER and surely there's something that compensates or makes up for value when including inherited runners...

No, they only weight an outcome per plate appearance. FIP is purely built on the three true outcomes. K, BB, and HR. xFIP normalizes HR/FB rate to league average.
So Hoyt's FIP goes up just because it's a HR? It doesn't really capture that it was a GS.

No. Hoyt didn't load the bases.
LOB% is what Hoyt struggles with. But that "typically" normalizes to around 70%.

Ranger fan here. My general read of Springer is that would be a guy who'd be pissed if you traded him. That seems like a way to have a guy who kills you in division all the time. I think the friend is smoking some impressive s***.

While the pen has been used a ton, we don't really have any overworked relievers. Part of that is because we continue to use guys like Hoyt and Feliz. While it hurts us from time to time in a game, it's benefiting us come September and October.
I know sometimes the best way to get a guy back on track is to put him right back out there in the same situation and let him have success. With Hoyt, however, I think a couple of appearances without inherited runners are in order before this guy jumps from the train.
