I was referencing full season numbers. We are also hitting 50 points lower with RISP at home versus away. Chances are that the two will flip in the second half and balance out.

So...reports out today that Justin Verlander (now commonly known as Kate Upton's husband) will be on the market after July 4th or so. What say you?

He's under contract through 2019. His numbers aren't "ace" stuff anymore but he would be a formidable 3rd starter and one with playoff experience. You might be able to get away with fewer prospects exchanged because you are taking a salary burden away from the Tigers, but it would be a pretty rich deal either way.

If the Astros take on almost all of that salary, then they can have basically nothing. They would need to eat around 15-20 million I would think. I just don't see this happening. Although, he would come off the books right about the time the payroll would need to skyrocket.

If he can reduce his amount of mistake pitches, there's a #3 starter hidden in there I think.

Unfortunately the Rays are only 3.5 out of first in the East. The Giants may be willing to work with you, but Cueto isn't having a great year and he has the ability to opt out at the end of this year (I think). If you think Cueto can give you a couple of years of solid MLB innings, maybe you see if he would agree to stick around. Or you just rent him for the stretch drive and let him test free agency but I really don't like rentals.
