He seems to get ahead in the count quite a bit but struggles to finish off batters. I feel that's something he will fix with more experience.

Yep.

He shows flashes (ie the Cano strike out) but he's just shown no progress in fixing his issues. Same ole story every 5th night.

haha maybe, but as soon as Morton is back he needs to be optioned to AAA. Gotta be a better option than him, he's gotten hit hard and often basically all year.

I bet Paulino is still the one optioned when LMJ comes back. They'll let Musgrove shake this one off as a post-injury start. He'll disappear once Morton comes back though.

He's not even getting hit all that hard. Seattle has a lot of soft hits.

I like Musgrove, but at this point I agree he shouldn't be on the 25-man right now.

Astros, Rockies, and Gators are all losing right now. It's ruining my Friday.

You missed Morton? When healthy, rotation is this:

Keuchel
McCullers
McHugh
Morton
Fiers (somehow he's earned his spot) - the other guys can't go deep enough into a game

Anyone we trade for would go to number 3. deGrom would be a huge get. Would immediately be the best rotation in the league.

Oh yeah Morton. Although I'd expect him to go back on DL before all said and done. But, Yeah I like your rotation. Hate it for Peacock, but I'd rather him be a 2-4 inning BP guy along with Devo. With that being said, Brad has earned a spot and there should be no hesitation to throw him back as a starter if someone else goes down.

That's my deal with Musgrove.

Just the same thing every night. Can't finish guys, high pitch count, and lucky to get out of the 5th.

I see no progress or adjustments whatsoever.

Hell even Fiers and Peacock have done work and made adjustments to help them get better. Musgrove...Not so much.

I kinda like the idea someone on here pitched of a 6 man rotation. Leave Martes in there and roll with

Dallas
LMJ
Morton
McHugh
Fiers
Martes

Or because of the numbers that limit the BP put McHugh out there in the pen. Lessen the stress on his arm and give us a long inning guy.

This again...Musgrove is fools gold. Trade bait. Been saying that i just dont see "it". Hes got a lot for an intellectual to like (control, no walks, etc) but wild ass Martes looks much more like a big leaguer to me.
