Verlander has 42 walks in 82 innings, he is also expensive.and getting old. I wouldn't hate it, but there are some red flags.

Depending on what we give up I think it would be a good to great move. He has tons of experience, especially in the postseason. Yeah he's old, but we are in a win-now mode. This season has the potential to be the best ever.

Man I was looking at our AAA Fresno roster earlier. While I know a lot of these were average to subpar in the big leagues recently, look at the batting lineup those guys are trotting out:

Derrick Fisher
Colin Moran
Tyler white
AJ Reed
Preston Tucker
Teoscar Hernandez
Tony Kemp

That's a whole bunch of guys that would at least be on rosters for a lot of teams.

Have a feeling at least 2 of these guys will be gone after trade deadline

That's kinda why I don't mind over paying for someone.

If we don't move these guys they won't go anywhere. Our ML roster is full of guys who will be here awhile. This team is built to compete for a long time and it's to the point we can afford to cash in on some of these prospects.

I would have no problem packaging a high end prospect with a handful of these type guys to give a r ebuilding team quantity over quality deal.
