Pitchers are better at home. Win low scoring games at home and score runs on the road.
If you don't give up a lot I'd take sonny gray all day...as long as that's not the ONLY move you make.
The guy was on the DL the first 5 weeks of the season and has had some very good starts and a few clunkers. Which is exactly what you would expect out of a #3 on the Astros rotation. He's not an ace anymore, a #2 type guy on average team and more of a #3 type guy on a WS caliber team like the Astros. Which is exactly what type of prospects or money beane is going to have to command if he wants to deal him to Houston.
And just my opinion but gray looks like a guy tonight who knows he is auditioning for us. He only walks a batter every 3.5 innings and he already has 3 tonight and looks out of sorts. His first pitch he throws to the backstop? I haven't seen him do that at any point this season.

Bullpen arm. I've said that for 2 months that's a bigger issue than starting pitcher in my eyes.
You roll into the playoffs with this bullpen and you are going to end up fishing instead of playing baseball in the fall classic or even ALCS.

Play em all in this A's stadium. Get 7 total road games.
