Seriously though, how in the world did we just lose that game?
Hinch got cute and tried to use every reliever in the bullpen. Then we got in trouble.Aggie8587 said:

Hindsight question #2:
Was Giles warm?
Hoyt faced what 3 batters and they had to stall to get him warm.
He was warm in the 9th. Just saying.

I'm not mad, but you can't lose those games.
The Astros real bullpen problem is that they have nobody who can come in and get a left handed batter out. Moustakas shifted the game....by getting a hit off Guduan.Nuke LaLoosh said:
Hinch got caught tonight trying too get some guys some work. I'm not even that mad at it, honestly.
I will pose this question: what is the last team to win the World Series without a shut down closer?
I want Giles to be that guy but he's not. I have shifted this to priority 1.

Man y'all act like the BP can just never get anyone out.
I don't have the numbers in front of me but our BP has been one of the better ones in the league. They'll be fine.

My argument is closer specific. I can't name the list team to win it all that didn't have a badass pitching the 9th.
This is how I've always felt about his stuff without being able to put it into words. A straight fastball is fine (especially at 98+) coupled with an active slider, but my God his slider just looks like a mess. It looks like it breaks too soon or something; it's movement seems really predictable. Batters make contact with it far too often imo. Not being "snappy" enough is a good description for it.KC_Ag14 said:
Zero snap to that "slider". Never seen someone who can throw 100 MPH that has stuff which is just not electric. I didn't know it was possible until Giles.

You know it's good going when a random weeknight loss is considered adversity.
I don't agree that it will be Gregerson... However I do agree that Devo will have at least a couple of clutch multi-inning outings in the playoffs.JJxvi said:
Re: the closer. I pretty much expect that Gregerson will eventually be the closer and imo likely will have a solid season once he works out his issues. With that said, it's not hard to read the image in the crystal ball...when the playoffs come around, the man with the ball in his hand at the for the final outs that will decide our games is going to be Devo.

I'm just going to ignore this thread until we win again, cause you guys are losing your minds over one loss in 12 games....
