We'll run away with the AL West. Good to get some adversity during the season to build character and see who steps up. Or who needs to get replaced.
You know it's good going when a random weeknight loss is considered adversity.

Let me also add that I feel like before this season I haven't seen a catchers interference since little league. Wth are the catchers doing?

Know every other team deals with this, but just noticed the Stros have had 1 day off since May 18 and don't have their next one until June 15. Tonight sucked as they were in a groove, just hope Hinch continues a good rota system in the lineup and gives Altuve Correa and Springer their spot days off. Honestly wouldn't even mind pushing a couple of Dallas and Lance's starts at this point too. Need our legs for the fall.
I honestly don't think a super long win streak in the early/ middle part of the season is the best case scenario for us to win a World Series.
Too many teams with great winning percentages end up coasting for the last month of the season and can't turn it back on for the playoffs and exit in a disappointment.

I want Giles to be that guy but he's not. I have shifted this to priority 1.

It's early in June and we are the best team in the world. We are obviously going to make some trades before the playoffs, so you have to use these opportunities to see which of your relievers you trust.
I'm a noted hinch hater but I'm completely okay with him getting some different arms in the game.

We SHOULD make 2/3 of those happen, -'d we can easily make them all happen if we choose.

My argument is closer specific. I can't name the list team to win it all that didn't have a badass pitching the 9th.

This is how I've always felt about his stuff without being able to put it into words. A straight fastball is fine (especially at 98+) coupled with an active slider, but my God his slider just looks like a mess. It looks like it breaks too soon or something; it's movement seems really predictable. Batters make contact with it far too often imo. Not being "snappy" enough is a good description for it.KC_Ag14 said:

As long as it's not a weekend loss then I'm good. Weeknight losses aren't too bad.

A shut-down lefty bullpen guy is needed. Guduan isn't that guy, at least not right now. Giles doesn't inspire great confidence at closer, but he's been pretty good on the whole so far results-wise.
I don't like his trend line at the moment, and he definitely earned the loss tonight.

Re: the closer. I pretty much expect that Gregerson will eventually be the closer and imo likely will have a solid season once he works out his issues. With that said, it's not hard to read the image in the crystal ball...when the playoffs come around, the man with the ball in his hand at the for the final outs that will decide our games is going to be Devo.
I don't agree that it will be Gregerson... However I do agree that Devo will have at least a couple of clutch multi-inning outings in the playoffs.JJxvi said:

This. No one is blowing up, but we are talking about one of our clearly identified weaknesses, that we have been discussing all year. It manifested itself in a pretty terrible bullpen blow up last night, so I think it is worth talking about.
To me, priorities to prepare for the post season are:
1 - Shut down CP
2 - #2-quality SP
3 - Bullpen LHP
