I'm with Blummer...Not upset at Jose for trying to stretch it.

Any ball that is hit there is automatic go for third. It took an absolutely perfect relay.

Baserunning blunders are purely on coaching. We are taught to go for one more.. always run.. test the fielders.. make them best you.

And more times than not we step on our own *****.

You can be aggressive while still being smart. We don't know how to be smart. It's all or nothing.. which shows lazy coaching and lazy situational awareness.

And for the record.. I'm not complaining about Hinch. I just wish we could be happy with a double there and lay off the gas when a runner on 2nd and no outs likely nets you another cushion run. If it were a one run game, I'd be all for the agressive running to try and get to third.

yes... I don't see a single reason to try and stretch it unless you're 100% sure you will make it... especially with your4/5 hitters coming up.

I'm pretty sure Jose has been told he has a green light to do whatever he wants on the base paths.

Or it just shows that Altuve is prone to making poor decisions on the bases. I highly doubt that the coaching staff is happy with Altuve running into as many outs as he does over the years, but what are you ultimately going to be able to about it, bench him?
