I am often critical of Hinch but leaving Giles in right there took balls. Next Giles appearance should be when we lead by 10 runs.

I give Hinch credit for pinch hitting Gattis. I wouldn't have had the balls to take out a guy who was 2-2 (against lefties whom he usually struggles against), but if youre going to do it, you absolutely put in the guys who is seeing pitches better than anyone.

That said, the RF had the ball in his glove and dropped it. Nice to catch a break every once in a while.

Just an FYI for you guys who shop/tweet - I was told by a former producer over the weekend that including #tofa in my most recent shop probably killed the chances of it making the screen. Something about not risking the use of random hashtags with that stuff. Sounded like a lame reason, but it was the first thing he said when he saw it.

Julia replied on twitter and Blum liked it, but I wasted an hour on that one, and it may have been because of #tofa.

For those who didn't see it over the weekend, here's the tofa reference. It's subtle, but apparently may have been enough to avoid on screen. I still don't know if I buy that explanation, but he seemed pretty set on it.

I know some of those were bloops or infield singles and that shows in his SLG being at only .350 but he's slowly starting to hit the ball well.

I was in favor of going after a starter. At this point I think they really need to think about a back end of the bullpen guy. Giles is proving that he's always going to be hit or miss
