Assuming the improbable happened and we both won 102 and ended up making the WS, we would have home field due to a better interleague record.

If we won out, that would be a 15-2 streak heading into the playoffs.

Astros would get home field over the Dodgers if they face each other in the WS with the same record.. Tie breaker is inter-divisional record (IIRC).

Under the new system, the team with the better record will open the World Series at home. If both teams have the same record, the next tiebreaker is head-to-head record. If that doesn't solve it, the team with the best record within its own division gets home-field advantage.

FWIW I'm glad our biggest question mark right now is LMJ. I think he ends up on the bench but if you asked me mid-season I wouldn't have dreamed anything other than a top two starter spot.

It's definitely nice to have options.
