The closer wasn't the wrong decision guys. Top of the lineup coming up for us in the bottom of the 9th. Top of their lineup up now. Have to hold them here. Giles just sucks so it was a bad choice, but not the wrong decision.

The problem is that Hinch is trying to use Giles like he's Jansen, Kimbrel, or Chapman. It's inexcusable. There's no reason with the way he pitched this far you don't start the inning with Musgrove warming up. When Giles doesn't have it he cannot work his way out. Just take him out.

Giles had been a disaster this postseason. And Devo was pitching well. Yes it was the wrong decision as evidenced by what happened.

Giles has no movement on his fastball it's a laser beam

He's toast if he has no control on his sliders.

Devo was missing quite a few spots outside. He had a fine inning, but he wasn't spot on. Based on how he was pitching, it could have been easily Devo that screwed this up and we'd be screaming that Hinch didn't bring in Giles.
