Man tonight was fun. Made me feel like a little kid again
A great night at MMP. I love this team.
Back home from MMP! That place was jumping tonight! Hopefully the bats unleash hell tomorrow and we won't have to worry about who is going to pitch the 9th.

That's a pretty common velocity for an outfielder with a running start and a crow hop. What made it perfect was that it was a dime to home plate!

Just got home and turned it on MLB Network to watch some analysis and see some replays.
No kidding...They're talking up Judge because he saw the most pitches of anyone in the lineup. Really. He looked good because he saw so many pitches.
Oh and Marwin threw Bird out because Bird was so slow. They went so far as to show footage of Al Leiter running the bases laughing that Bird may be slower.
I chatted it up with Blummer tonight and told him I missed him calling these games because I was sick and tired of hearing about the Yankees. He shook his head and said that they miss not calling games too and that the East coast bias is real and sickening.
I hope we sweep these fcks.

What I saw was them having a field day on bird. 3-2 and he gets a trot start. Basically if he actually takes off running he likely gets home.

Yup. Yankees or no, the correct take on that play is that bird should have been safe by a mile with good baserunning. It took a phenomenal throw from Marwin, but Bird was out because he failed as a baserunner.
FS1 guys were absolutely gushing over Keuchel. Couldn't say enough about how good he was.
And to be fair, hours after the game they've already gone over and over the game, so they were probably reaching for content with the judge thing.

Smoltz is really good, especially diagnosing how the pitchers are trying to go about things
Given the history, Smoltz has far more reasons to dislike the Yankees.
Last night was such a fantastic game. Close and tense throughout, just like playoff baseball should be. Overused Giles a bit and he definitely won't be available, but getting that first win is key.
That being said, I hope the offense opens up tonight and tees off on the heavy dose of fastballs from Severino and make that a non factor.
