I don't care one way or the other who wins, but it's telling that every 10th post or so on the Houston thread mentions the Rangers. I always assumed it was just a Cowboys obsession, didn't realize it was all sports.

The entire city has the biggest case of tiny pecker syndrome that I've ever seen. It's embarrassing that so many are Aggies. But I have to admit that Aggie athletics perpetuates it and tends to fit in with Houston sports scene overall. There's so much pent up angst.

Having somewhat recently relocated from DFW to The Woodlands, it's amazing how much hate/envy Houstonians have towards everything DFW. I literally don't get it. Having lived roughly 30 years in DFW I never gave much thought to Houston or it's teams.

I had no idea until attending A&M. In HS (late 80's, early 90s), I had a Colt .45's throwback hat because I thought it was cool. Didn't have any feeling about the Oilers, Rockets, or anything else about Houston. They were from Texas too, so if anything, I kind of pulled for them at times. There was no Cowboys-Oilers rivalry, the Lakers were the Mavs opponent to hate, and the Rangers and Astros never played each other. But then I went to A&M in the early to mid 90s during the Cowboys' Super Bowl run, and the overall bitterness directed at DFW was pretty eye-opening.

Introductions at A&M used to be so awkward. Everybody would be cool until the first guy said "Dallas". Then the Houstonians would say "**** Dallas" and then high five each other. Took some getting used to...

Yep...... had no ill will towards Houston sports teams at all until I went to A&M. I was shocked initially.

Yeah just like I'd rather see the Packers win the Super Bowl than the Skins or Eagles. I don't hate Houston (although I seriously dislike Hinch) but they are a division rival and should not be rooted for.

If we had won the series we should have, it would be a lot easier to be ok with the Astros winning one this year. I can only hope they get to join us in heartbreak hotel.

Both hate each other. Quit acting like the rangers don't hate the Astros. Most of Y'all would rather see the hippie liberals win tonight than the astros.

I was born and raised in San Antonio as a fan of the Spurs, Aggies and Dallas teams for everything else. The way SA is, people generally just pick a Dallas or Houston team for everything but NBA and there wasn't really any animosity. Dallas and LA were the Spurs big rivals and I didn't give Houston a second thought.

Dodgers have to at least feel good that they only gave up Calhoun. And they know to not over pay for him this off season.

I'd say he has cost himself some money, but in reality, baseball is all about the regular season, and Darvish is a 1 or 2 for most teams, and he will paid as such with not much out there to choose from.
