Ugh...needed a couple more feet

We have a whole lot of batters in this lineup that simply do not know how to have smart at-bats.

Sweep would have given us a little bit more room for error... Gotta take at least 2 of 3 from NY this weekend.

What an annoying 9th. Elvis needed about 2 more feet there and it's tied. Ugh.

Bullpen needs the day off though, especially Claudio. We use that poor guy all the freaking time.

Claudio hasn't pitched much in the last week. Get the day off tomorrow. He'll be good to go. We really need Bush and Kela to get the sand out and get back on the mound.

Obviously can't erase the abortion that was the Oakland series... But other than that one, the Rangers haven't lost a series since July31-Aug2 vs Seattle.

This is a pretty mediocre team, but they've put themselves in a position to steal a playoff spot with 23 games to go.
gigem1223
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Maybe I've been drinking the kool aid but I really don't think this is a mediocre team. The ridiculous amount of blown saves from the bullpen early in the season set this team back. Since the bullpen has righted that ship they've been playing good enough ball to be a playoff team. Their +42 run differential is by far the best of any team fighting for that 2nd wild card. If the bullpen just could've been serviceable early in the season, we'd have the #1 WC spot.

Still about 4 weeks to play. Just keep winning series and it'll work itself out. Really need Hamels to be better. He seemed to have found himself after the 5 run inning though, Hopefully he'll carry it over to his next start.

Being a fan of the Rangers and Ags, I'm shocked I still have two working testicles

Add in the fact that on top of that I'm a Cowboys fan and was too young to remember/experience the 90s superbowl runs, and I wasn't even really that deeply wounded by the UCLA loss. I guess I just sort of expect that the higher the stage, the more likely it is that I'll get my sports heart crushed. It is what it is until it changes.

Stopped following the Cowboys when they fired Tom Landry. Think that puts my age more in geological terms.

There's a hurricane about to slam Florida.

The Rays aren't going to be able to play their home series against New York... But there's one later in the month.

I'm sure they are just going to swap... right?

I'm just old enough that I remember the Cowboys super bowl wins, very much remember the Stars Stanley Cup and our lone Big XII championship, and being a native of San Antonio I've had 5 NBA titles to distract me from every other one of my teams' futility since Y2K.

Absolutely! Buddy Bell and Al Oliver were my favorites, but those were some good players too.

Oh, and Class of '90 here . I think I may need to go take some vitamins or something.

Pretty much. Tampa is even the Yankees spring training home. Actually saw a minor league game there a couple years ago. They have replica monuments there and everything.

I've actually been to a game there and it was an unbelievable value. I took my FIL and we toured the Ted Williams HOF museum that's located there for a few innings (not Fenway since they didn't have room and pi$$ed him off). It was really cool.

I was able to buy a pair of tickets about 10 rows behind the dugout for I think $30. Before the game we parked, and I'm not making this up, literally across the street from the stadium (I think it was $15), and took all of about 45 seconds to make it to the park entrance.

The food was pretty good and not that unreasonable and they have a sting ray tank in left or centerfield where you can feed/pet them.

The next day I mentioned how great my experience was to some local and he said that it had been named the overall best value of all the four major sports by some publication.

Of course the atmosphere in that domed stadium was pretty weak but everything else was fantastic.

And their consensus is that he should shut up. That literally only became an issue at all because Reid Ryan decided to drag the Rangers through the mud like an asshat. All he had to do was say no and move on to whatever else worked, but nope, got to make sure he goes at the Rangers in all likelihood because his dad hates Jon Daniels. I don't believe for a second his motives weren't personal.
