Way closer than it should've been. A win is a win. Now I start the Aggie game with low blood pressure. Lord knows it's gonna go through the roof at some point

That Gatorade dump has become so routine they don't even have fun with it anymore.

Series wins are nice, should've easily been a sweep with a decent bullpen. Need to go on a run at some point to have a chance.

Overall I'm always going to be a sports optimist. I have faith that every team I'm a fan of will win a title in my lifetime. It's commendable to not jump on the bandwagon. The losing makes the winning all that much sweeter. Still will always love and support A&M football, regardless of how much this loss sucks

The Aggie defense is the Rangers bullpen of college football

I can't even really think of a baseball equivalent to what happened last night. Not even the rangers bullpen has blown a game in such shocking fashion this year.

Only thing I can think of that comes close is the June 26th game versus Cleveland. Up 9-2 in the Top of 4th, only for Cleveland to score 13 unanswered and we lose 15-9.

Not even close.

Game 6 hurt worse. But didn't match the total collapse

From a pure probability standpoint, Game 6 2011 WS would probably be the closest. Definitely different in how it played out, but thats just due to the nature of the sport (big come backs don't happen quickly in football just due to # of possessions/plays it takes to score points).

Last night our win probability reached about 99.5% in the 3rd quarter - Game 6 WS it got to 96% in the B9.

Late in the 3rd quarter, what happened last night falls somewhere in between Rangers chances of blowing it in 2011 G6 and Northern Iowa's chances of blowing it in 2016 NCAAT.

The key difference I keep telling myself to feel better about last night is 2011 G6 and 2016 NCAAT were big games. Last night all that really happened is a probable 7-5 or 8-4 team lost a game to another probable 7-5 or 8-4 team.

It sucked, but it didn't rob us of any potential championship runs.

The big game feeling is true. My family lives in Atlanta.

This doesn't come close to the super bowl.

But enough of our damn football team.

Time to focus on our FHTR

Rangers state they won't be calling up Profar or Calhoun for expanded rosters.

Essentially signals that Profar's time in the Rangers organization is over - he'll be traded this offseason.

Seem very likely that Profar gets traded. Wouldn't surprise me if he became a good SS/2B for another team, which would be painful if Odor continues to play the way he has and we're locked into him.

If they bring Profar up, he's a free agent two years from now. If they don't, he's still under control for three more years. I'm sure he's not happy about that, but keeping him off the big league team does increase his trade value a little. Although I'm not sure if he can bring back anything more than a fringe prospect.
mhayden

He's putting up numbers in RR deserving of a call-up.

Not getting one in order to get an additional year of service time is more or less saying we don't value him as a part of this organization, we just want to maximize his value in trade.

And while he's not going to bring back a ton on his own, in a package deal a 24-year old former #1 prospect who is putting up a 800ish OPS in AAA and has 3 years of team control left is still a valuable chip.

Only Delino would get thrown out trying to steal on a knuckleball in the dirt. He had like a three foot lead.

Exactly. And I'm excited to see what the trade will look like. Productive in AAA and three years of remaining control vs. 700+ MLB plate appearances of garbage. A change of scenery and consistent playing time without having to look over his shoulder may be what he needs to break out.

Good night so far with the Twins getting spanked, and the M's and O's losing. Hopefully we can get a little help from the A's this week against the Angels. Really need to sweep the Braves.

I'm hoping we can continue to win series. If we do, we should gain ground.

Getting into the wild card game would be a huge accomplishment if you consider all of the injuries this team has suffered and seemingly half of the team underperforming.

Here we go:

NYY (WC +3.0) @ Balt (T, W)
Minn (WC) @ Tampa (T, W) @ KC (Th)
LAAA (-0.5) @ Oak (T, W)
Balt (-1.5) v NYY (T, W)
Rangers (-2.0) @ Atlanta (T, W)

2 GB. This team isn't very good, but it would be fun to go into the final weekend with a chance of making the playoffs.

Down East (A+) won... they begin Playoffs on Wed. They face former Rangers affiliate Myrtle Beach.

Spokane (A-Sh) is headed to the playoffs. They face Vancouver.

Not sure how the AZL (Rookie) playoffs go, but Rangers are good there, as well.

This supports the depth of the Rangers lower levels.

I'm still guessing there will be a flurry of activity the week after the season ends. Depending on what the Rangers can trade and whom they get back will dictate when those trades go down, I suppose.

For example, Profar is on the 40. If you trade him for potential Rule V guys, you'd wait until after the draft. If they are younger guys, move him before (assuming the team getting him has room).
gigem1223

Just get in and anything can happen.

For whatever reason, this Rangers team has done well against other playoff teams...it's the bottom feeders they seem to struggle with.

Think I saw that Calhoun also hit a walkoff grand slam against them. Making them pay for trading him it would seem.

It was a good play, but even watching that he just doesn't seem like he would ever bring more than mediocre defense in left.

Though, I guess really that's all we'd need. Mediocre seems like his ceiling though.
