Hoping that the injury is just a calf strain or hamstring pull. Those seem fairly minor. I could also maybe see it being his back again.

An extended DL trip for Beltre and you can probably stick a fork in the Rangers' season IMO. He is such an important part of our lineup. Seems like the obvious move would be to bring up Guzman and shift Gallo to 3rd. That would let you play deshields in LF essentially until Beltre gets back.

Round Rock is eliminated so their remaining 4 Home games against Okie City are inconsequential.

You never and I mean NEVER want to be the team who just barely missed the playoffs in any sport.
It's the worst position to be in because you don't get into the playoffs and you don't get a good draft pick to improve the team. If we can't make it to the post season, I don't want to see the team win much until this season is over.

Yeah you can stick a fork in this season if Belts is out for more than a few games, which he almost certainly will be. Maybe Guzman and/or Calhoun get called up and absolutely rake for the last month but we're going to be so vulnerable against lefties without AB in the middle of the order.
Who knows. We might get lucky and face a lot of righty starters. I haven't looked.

Agreed. Only one #1 pick has ever made the HOF. Baseball is much more all over the board.

That should change soon with Chipper and Arod. But yes, high draft picks won't even impact your club for at least 2/3 years at minimum.

Agree. Football?.....yes, I'll root for losses. Can't do it with the Rangers. Don't really think it makes that much difference.
Hard to do with baseball because it's pretty much daily entertainment. Totally sucks to find that after i've spent the day working and spent the evening coaching/attending/transporting my kids, the team is down 5-0 night after night when i finally get to tune in. Football is easier to bite the bullet on.
