I definitely took the comments as being butthurt over not getting a deal vs a problem in the clubhouse. I don't know that I'd couch it as mailing it in. I still think he's an old **** that isn't worth much, but I think he was a butthurt old **** which probably didn't help him focus. Just because he's hit for a few weeks in Colorado doesn't mean much to me.

And screw Jeffress too. He's also bitter. The guy literally pissed himself during a pennant race followee by not getting anyone out all season.

Both of these guys turned out to be assclowns.

I imagine catching in the Texas heat for a losing team this year didn't help his motivation either.

He was looking for a contract extension -- part of the reason he didn't go to Cleveland was because he wouldn't be the catcher of the future there -- and Texas was not in a position to be handing out extensions. An expensive, catcher with the magic age of 32 just around the corner isn't a good rebuilding/retooling piece.

1st month as a Ranger: 990 OPS
2nd month as a Ranger: 710 OPS
2017 Playoffs: 167 OPS
3rd month as a Ranger: 528 OPS
4th month as a Ranger: 798 OPS
5th month as a Ranger: 654 OPS
6th month as a Ranger: 635 OPS

Did he suddenly care again that 4th month?

His 6th month OPS with the Rangers was not .635. It was .488. His 1st Month OPS with Colorado so far is .888

And I think you make the point... Yes, he suddenly cared again in the 4th month when he DH'd 4 times that month and his agent called him to tell him if he loses his role as Catcher with the Rangers, that his career was done as a Catcher.

I believe him when he alludes to the idea that he wears his emotion on his sleeve. His best OPS with the Rangers was his 1st month. His OPS in his 1st month with Colorado is higher than any other month (than the 1st) with Texas. He has a jump when it becomes public that he is on the verge of losing his spot as C.

It may not have been intentional, but he certainly was capable of doing better with Texas. If his game calling was as bad as his OPS to start this season, it is no wonder most of the SP wanted Chirinos to call the game instead of him. And it makes you wonder about the RP. Was he the problem with Dyson, et al? I've always assumed it was Brocail.

Early on, but it seems like we're back in that lackadaisical mode not doing the little things right.

Even there -- Chirinos hits an absolute rocket to left field and doesn't get out of the box quickly enough and what should be a double turns into a single -- and DD hits what might have made it 1st/2nd with nobody out and instead its 1 out, man on first.

It's hard to believe that Rua has 25 doubles and 17 homers in his career. It seems like he has never done a single productive thing out there.

Andrew Miller just walked off the mound and down the dugout steps in the middle of an inning. Not good. #Indians

Zack Meisel

@ZackMeisel
Andrew Miller threw seven pitches, all fastballs. MPH: 90, 90, 88, 90, 91, 91, 92.

His average FB this season? 95 mph. Yeah, he's not right

Looked like a promising player a couple years ago. His approach at the plate is just terrible. He goes up there hacking like he's Mike Trout every at bat. Very rarely seems to even have a productive out.

To me, at least until Gallo returns, Calhoun would've been the better option to help the club win now. Mazara, DD, Choo outfield with Calhoun DHing.

Would feel 10x better if it were ABD instead.

JC Ramirez was scheduled to face Perez. He is 11-10 with a 4.15 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP. He has had forearm issue and is getting an MRI today. Placed on DL10, today right before the game.

Accuweather says it is 73F. I lived about 10 miles from the stadium, as a kid. Loved Rod Carew and Brian Downing, but I was a Dodger fan, having lived in LA prior to that.

I went to look at Google Maps to see the house we lived in. We moved from there in '79 and one of the things I remember vividly, was an RV that was parked in the driveway at the house next door.

I just looked and the image of the houses has the same RV parked there. 38 years ago.

Leclerc's is at nearly 7 walks per 9ip. Dude is painful to watch. To walk a leadoff guy in fromt of Trout and Pujols with a 3 run lead is just straight up ******ed pitching.

I think you mean Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs.

No... that was "Art" who lived down the street from us in the house prior to this one. "Art" was old and creepy and he was rumored to like little girls. He had one of those old milk trucks in his drive way. 4 or 5 years ago, I took my family by to see the Hood I grew up. The Van was still there. I just checked Google Maps and it isn't there, so he must have either died or been imprisoned. Considering he was probably mid-30s or early 40s when we moved, he is likely dead. Could be a research project during the off season.
