Weren't you among the one saying Andrus' contract was ridiculously overpriced and the Rangers were stuck with him because no other team would be dumb enough to take it?

If the Rangers knew Andrus would opt out... wouldn't that free up some cash for Darvish and Verlander.

Yup, said it during the 2013 season and the over-priced/untradeable part held for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He's no longer over-priced, but the Rangers would still not be able to do much in way of a trade for the exact reason in the tweet - he's got an opt-out after 2018 and 2019 so a team would get him for 1yr/$15m before he jumps back into free agency.

The "foregone conclusion" was that if he had average production, he'd stick with the contract and if he was above average he'd opt-out.

Andrus is on his way to 3000 hits, and will be the next Rangers Hall of Famer...or Elvis still needs to grow up, as evidenced by the need to sign Napoli to increase veteran leadership...not sure what to believe.

Ugh... was watching the game when Upton hit the homerun, turned the game off to go do some stuff, got notifications that the Rangers scored two runs, turned the game back on only to see Napoli ground into an inning ending DP
