Leclerc kept wanting to throw the FB and Lucroy was adamantly opposed. So much, it was very apparent with multiple visits by Lucroy.
Chirinos let him throw the high FB that was flat as a rope and it got sent out.
This is an example of why Chirinos can catch... but isn't a catcher.
He needs to get the pitcher to throw what he needs to throw. Not necessarily what he wants to throw.

I don't know how fair it is or not to blame Brocail for the pitching this year, but I was never on board with letting Maddox go.
I do hope that the Rangers reevaluate the pitching coach after the season.
